LIGHTNING STRIKE ASSEMBLY: STEP 1 BASE ASSEMBLY A Top View NOTE: If not using AC Adapter, you will need 5 D Batteries (not included). Unscrew the cap on the end of the Battery Leg (D). Insert the 5 D Batteries in the leg following the diagram that is located on the leg and screw back on the leg cap. Slide the Battery Leg (D) into the hole in back of Motor (A) while pressing release switch. Make sure notch in Battery Leg is facing upwards so that it will slide into notch opening. Battery Leg will lock into place so that it can only be released when pressing the release switch. Flip the Motor upside down and unscrew leg knob. Insert small legs underneath leg knob. Small notch holes should align with notches under leg knob. Slide each Small Leg into place and tighten knob to secure legs in place. Set aside. Release Switch E Leg Knob D D Bottom View of Motor (A) E STEP 2 SHAGGER FEEDER ASSEMBLY AND ATTACHMENT TO MOTOR Connect Shagger Feeder Top (C) to Shagger Feeder Base (B) by matching the notches on top of Shagger Feeder Base to Shagger Feeder Top. Secure by rotating Shagger Feeder Top until it clicks to lock into Shagger Feeder Base. C Slide the completed Shagger Feeder into the hole on the top of the Motor. Slide all the way down so that Shagger Feeder is snug in place atop the Motor. LIGHTNING STRIKE USAGE: B ADDING BALLS TO MACHINE Prior to starting the machine you will want to add balls to the shagger. Add up to 12 balls to start.
POWERING UP MACHINE The Lightning Strike Pitching Machine runs on 5 D Batteries (not included) or with the provided AC Adapter (F). If using the AC Adapter, connect it into the side on the bottom of the Motor. The power switch is located near the Shagger Feeder Base on the Motor. Turn product ON to power up and OFF to power down. NOTE: Batteries will not drain if the Lightning Strike is being powered by the AC Adapter. ADJUSTING PITCH HEIGHT WARNING: Before adjusting the pitch height turn OFF the Lightning Strike pitching machine so no balls are pitched. While holding onto the Lightning Strike, loosen the Angle Adjustment Knob on the side of the Motor. Adjust the angle of the pitching machine to the height of the batter and desired pitch. Tighten knob to secure into place. Angle Adjustment Knob GROUNDERS: Angle the Lightning Strike down towards the ground. PITCHES: Angle the Lightning Strike based on desired pitch height. POP-UPS: Angle the Lightning Strike upwards.
ADJUSTING FOR TYPE OF PITCH Dual Wheel Motor WARNING: Before changing the pitch setting turn OFF the machine so no balls are pitched while your face is near the Lightning Strike. Where the ball exits the Lightning Strike there are two speed selection switches (one on each side). These as well as the pitching angle can be adjusted to create specific types of pitches. HITTING PRACTICE Pitch Speed Switch LEFT PITCH ANGLE OF PITCH SWITCH SPEED Low Speed Pitches (30 mph) At Desired Height LL High Speed Pitches (up to 45 mph) At Desired Height HH Curve Balls to the Left At Desired Height HL Curve Balls to the Right At Desired Height LH Pitch Speed Switch RIGHT FIELDING PRACTICE PITCH ANGLE OF PITCH SWITCH SPEED Pop-Ups (15-20ft high) Angled Upward LL Pop-Ups (25-30ft high) Angled Upward HH Low Speed Grounders (30 mph) Angled Downward LL High Speed Grounders (up to 45 mph) Angled Downward HH USING SHAGGER FOR BALL PICK UP Slide shagger out of Motor. Balls will slide securely into the shagger shaft and will not be released until Shagger Feeder is placed back into Motor. Shagger Feeder can hold up to 12 balls.
