KEY INFORMATION EVENT LOCATION The event takes place entirely in Roundhay Park. A DETAILED ATHLETE GUIDE WILL BE RELEASED CLOSER TO THE EVENT REGISTRATION Registration takes place in Roundhay Park Event Village on the morning of Saturday 9 June. KIT BAG There is a secure bag drop area within transition where you can leave your belongings while you race. You can collect this bag after you ve finished when you collect your bike from transition. TRANSPORT A free competitor car park is available at Roundhay Park on Saturday 9 June. A dedicated, regular shuttle bus service will run between Roundhay Park and Leeds City Centre on Saturday 9 June. Unfortunately, these buses are unable to transport bikes. On Saturday, the shuttle bus service will run from early morning until after registration closes. ACCOMMODATION As the Official Great Britain Age-Group Travel Supplier, Nirvana Europe are the number one choice for event travel and accommodation. Sunday see s the world s elite compete, along with the age-group and sprint events. Stay around and get a glimpse of the world s best in action!
SATURDAY 9 JUNE 1 REGISTRATION All race packs are to be collected at the event. Nothing will be posted out to you in advance. Registration is located in the Roundhay Park Event Village and is open from 06:30. We suggest you arrive at least 90 minutes prior to your race to allow plenty of time to register and set up your transition area. 2 3 4 BAG DROP OFF When you rack your bike in transition, you can securely drop your belongings to collect once you ve finished the race. RACE Enjoy it! POST-FINISH Collect your well-earned finishers medal and meet up with friends and family in the event village. Don t forget to collect your bike and other belongings from transition. TRI-STAR GEAR RESTRICTIONS Gear restrictions will be in place for YOUTH athletes and you will have your bike checked before entering transition. TRISTAR 2 & TRISTAR 3 races will be run as both gear restricted and un-restricted. Participants will need to specify when entering which of the categories below best applies. Any athlete wanting to compete for IRC Team selection will have to be gear restricted. Any athlete wanting to compete for a podium place will need to be gear restricted. Any athlete wanting to participate in the event (and not compete to be on the podium or be selected for an IRC team) can race unrestricted. TRISTAR 2 & TRISTAR 3 gear restriction checks will take place prior to entering transition. For more information on gear restrictions, please see the talent section of the British Triathlon website.
KEY QUESTIONS AND INFORMATION WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR? A free competitor car park is available at Roundhay Park. CAN I USE A MOUNTAIN BIKE? Absolutely. Although a road bike may be faster, a mountain bike or hybrid bike is perfectly fine. SHOULD I WEAR SPECIFIC RUNNING TRAINERS? Yes - it will make your race experience more enjoyable. DO I HAVE TO WEAR A WETSUIT FOR THE SWIM? Yes. For safety reasons, wetsuits will be compulsory for all Open Races in Leeds. DO I NEED TO WEAR GOGGLES IN THE SWIM? Any open water swimming really does require goggles. HOW WILL I KNOW WHERE TO GO? Make sure you look at your route map on the event website. Don t worry, volunteers will be on hand to advise you on the day. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER THE RACE? Enjoy the Roundhay park experience, catering and refreshments will be available. If you wish to stay until Sunday you can take in action from the world s elite. I FORGOT TO BUY SOME EVENT MERCHANDISE DURING THE ENTRY PROCESS. CAN I BUY THIS AT A LATER DATE? Yes of course. Login to your myevents.active.com page and select Purchase additional merchandise and follow the instructions there. FRIENDS AND FAMILY There are many locations where friends and family can watch you within Roundhay Park, such as swim viewing area, run route and finish line. Catering concessions and other amenities will be available.
