The Institute of Internal Auditors August 12, 2014 G. Thomas Carlisle, CPA Cincinnati Chapter Student Scholarship Fund Coordinator 6074 Fox Run Road Cold Spring, KY 41076-9209 (cell) 513-479-3717 (email) GThomasCarlisle@AOL.com TO: Brandon Keller and Patrick Whitmer, IIA Co-Presidents Jesse Hanford, ISACA President RE: Article for Newsletter/Website Chris Janson/Robert Half again break string of victories by Mike Flynn/Fifth Third Robert Half s team once again led by Chris Janson, pictured far right above, won Low Gross Honors with a score of -15. A Chris Janson/ Robert Half team also won in 2010. Pictured far left is Jason Miller. The other two team members, Kevin Carson and Justin Peter, were not present for the trophy presentation picture. Kelly Wanstrath, center, represented Grant Thornton, the sponsoring company of the trophies. - 1 -

The defending 2013 Low Gross Honors Fifth Third team was led by five time winner Mike Flynn, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012 and 2013, pictured far left above. Also pictured left to right are Ryan Dirks in a really cool UK shirt, Chris Bezold and Steve Lackey. Photo is from the trophy presentation in 2013. A Fifth Third team has won or shared the honors in the outing six of the last eight years. A Horizons-AFTS team led by Bryan Kaiser shared the Low Gross Honors in 2012. There were record 123 golfers in the annual outing that funds student scholarships administrated by the local IIA and ISACA chapters. IIA Cincinnati Chapter Co-President Brandon Keller, from Macy s, far right above, was present for the outing. Also pictured above left to right from AFG/GAIC are Chris Myers, Todd Heine and Brian McNalley. - 2 -

IIA Cincinnati Chapter Co-President Patrick Whitmer, pictured above also in a really cool UK shirt, from Clark Schaefer Consulting was also present for the outing. In addition, Patrick won Hole #11, Closest to the Pin contest. We had not two but three presidents at the outing. Adam Leigh, not pictured, from American Modern Insurance Group, is the ISACA Greater Cincinnati Chapter President. The annual events have resulted in donations of $7,034 over seven years. Tom (pictured below) and Chef Donna Carlisle, pictured above with Assistant Chef Scott Sutherland, were honored, once again, to host the annual event at the Flagg Springs Golf Course, located in beautiful California, Kentucky. We had steaks plus chicken for the first time after golf with refreshments, always plentiful. - 3 -

The Carlisle/Tocash team made another respectable but not good enough showing with a score of -10. Pictured above left to right are Jim Brown, Tom Tocash, Bruce Miller and Tom Carlisle. And yes, we did use a record 100 mulligans and still have never won this event. The other contest winners pictured below were: Longest Drive #2 men John Mark Kennedy Longest Drive #2 women Candice Rack - 4 -

Closest to Pin #3 Chris Meyers Shortest Drive #5 Tom Harrow Closest to Pin #6 Steve Lackey Longest Putt #9 Rick McDonough Closest to Pin #14 Chris Bezold - 5 -

Longest Putt #18 Ron Krieg Longest Drive #10 Shortest Drive #17 Ross Shanhanden Ross Shanhanden After securing longest drive on hole #10, Ross intentionally went for shortest drive on hole #17. Now that is a winning strategy. Split the Pot Tom Moore Dennis Mele, pictured far right below, has played in all 27 outings! Pictured left to right are Ron Krieg, Jim Rolfes and Bryan Kanter. - 6 -

Repeating with First Last or High Gross Honors with a three stroke improved score of eight over par from last year was the Western Southern team. Pictured above left to right are Sarah Staubach, Natalie Carrran, Jackie Sieve and Greg Lauck. Winning low or high gets you the same prize, a dozen golf balls. Maybe the Carlisle/Tocash team should be going for First Last instead of Low Gross Honors. Best Hat Russ Krick far right above Convergys/Grant Thornton Also pictured left to right are Alex Vang, Kelly Wanstrath and Gary Franklin. - 7 -

Special Mention Bob Dobbs, pictured second from left above, and American Financial Group/Great American Insurance Company fielded six teams and also provided a sleeve of golf balls for each player. The other team members left to right are Registrar Allen Stone, Scorekeeper Bob Greene and Bobbi Larken. Bob Dobbs once again donated an additional $250 designated to help fund the IIA Cincinnati Chapter Student Scholarships. The IIA Chapter is an IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization for purposes of student scholarships and donations may be deductible. We cannot thank Bob enough for his support in this event. Extra-Special Mention Our volunteers: Donna Carlisle, Gary Franklin, Mike Flynn, Bob Greene, Matt Reed, Allen Stone, Scott Sutherland, Tom Tocash, and Kim Ciraulo, Erin Giltner, Terry Nelson, Kimberly Persiani from Horizons-AFTS. A special thank you is extended to our long time sponsors: -American Financial Group/Great American Insurance Company -Carlisle Tax Service TommyWorld enterprises -CHAN Healthcare - 8 -
