2 DMSC SHORT SHOTS Work Party: Saturday, Sept 20 starng at 8am. Aenon Turkey Hunters: Paerning of shotguns is restricted to the Plinking Range. Only slug shells may be sighted in on the rifle ranges. Air Rifle and Air Pistol:.177 and.22 caliber air rifles and air pistols are now permied on the Lower Archery Range. The firing line is the pavilion, and all pellets must be fired towards the hillside. Meadow Pistol Range: The Meadow Pistol Range is officially open. The range is on the le- hand side heading towards the Plinking Range. Only pistols are permied on this range. More on page 5. Range Rule Update: Because the Meadow Pistol Range is now open, the Plinking Range has returned to its original status of a proprietary range. This means that one person/party owns the range unl they are done shoong. If the range is already in use, other shooters must either wait for them finish, or ask the occupying shooters to share the range. Leadership change: Nick Kuzy resigned from the Board of Directors due to family commitments. Nick had a big hand in se8ng up the security cameras at the club and construcng the baffles on the Upper Pistol Range. We thank Nick for his many contribuons. Elecon of Directors: Elecons are coming up at the November Meeng of the Membership. More on page 3. Chili Cooks Wanted: The October members meeng will feature the annual Chili cook off. Competors will cook up their favorite chili recipe for members to sample, and judges will decide the winner. Think you can beat the three-me defending champion Chuck Augenstein? 3 Annual Board of Directors Elecons Elecon of Directors: The November meeng is the annual Meeng of the Membership. Elecons for the Board of Directors will take place at the meeng. A nominee for the open seat previously held by Nick Kuzy has not yet been determined by the commiee and will be announced at a later date. Self Defense Match Rifle and Handgun Stages Sunday, October 5, 2014 10:00 am first shot rifle. Handgun follows rifle Please show at 9:00 for setup and mandatory safety briefing. $10 entry fee (covers both segments) A maximum of 30 Entries will be accepted Enjoy a fun match that allows to test your favorite defensive firearms and skills in realisc posions at silhouee targets under a bit of pressure. Any centerfire weapon shoong a single projecle is allowed! Any sight or opc is allowed! Match will be conducted at 25 and 50 yards for rifle, 10 and 25 yards for handgun. 60 total rounds each rifle / handgun match. Course of fire includes: Rapid fire shoong Reloads Support side shoong Malfuncon clearance Movement to firing posions Mulple Posions Precision fire This is not a beginner match. 5 Meadow Pistol Range Grand Opening The grand opening of the Meadow Pistol Range was held on August 28th. Members Dave Carlisle and Chaz Augenstein dug out the hillside, built the berms, and moved the exisng road using a hoe and skid loader. For their efforts, Dave and Chaz were presented with club hats and shirts and cut the ribbon to officially open the range. Nice work guys, the Meadow range is a work of art. Several members fired the first shots on the new range following the ribbon cu8ng. Congratulaons to Dave Carlisle, Allan Jaworski, and Marc Burnes for winning the Shoot the balloon string challenge.
