June 2012, HSAA T & F Championships, Aldershot Over 700 entries with athletes from all districts taking part run in conjunction with the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Youth Games. Conditions were appalling with 10 metres per second wind, thus only one championship best performance - Kierra BARKER (JG high jump 1.72m). June/July 2012, ESAA SE Regional Combined Events, Watford Ten of our athletes including the Junior Girls team, qualified for the national finals. July 2012, ESAA T & F Championships, Gateshead Hampshire Schools selected a full team of 60 athletes of which 38 were placed in top 8, with three individuals winning medals. Four Silver medallists: Junior Boys 4 x 100m Relay - Fraya JONES (SG Javelin); Joseph BROWN (JB Javelin); Victoria MOULD (IG Triple Jump). September 2012, ESAA Combined Events Championships, Bedford Hampshire had one team and six individually qualified athletes competing in the national combined events finals. ESAA South-East Regional Combined Events Crawley, Sussex (June 22 nd -23 rd 2013) 15 individuals qualified through to the national final. The Junior Girls team won the team title for the third consecutive years. July 2013, ESAA T & F Championships, Birmingham 47 athletes (including those in relay teams) contributed to team points. 35 individual athletes (and 3 relay teams) placed in top 8 with 6 individuals and one relay team winning events. The Intermediate Boys won the team trophy and are English Schools Champions. The other teams finished: JG 3 rd ; IG 4 th ; SG 13 th ; JB 4 th ; SB 3 rd. 18 athletes gained personal bests at these championships. By all measures this was our most successful championships for many years. 7 Gold medallists: Katya OLDFIELD (JG High Jump, 1.66m); Millie CAVANAGH (JG Shot Putt, 11.42m); Kierra BARKER (IG High Jump, 1.74m); Adam JONES (JB High Jump, 1.93m); Leslie PARKES (IB Hammer, 60.19m); Nick PERCY (SB Discus, 56.87m); Intermediate Boys 4x100m Relay (42.29s). 6 Silver medallists: Leanne DAVIES (IG Javelin, 43.04m); Andrew DOUGLAS (JB Pole Vault, 3.30m); Eddie JENKINSON (JB Discus. 44.95m); Oliver BROMBY (IB 100m, 10.96s) ;Jake NESS (IB 400m, 48.84s); Andrew MEAD-BRIGGS (IB Discus, 47.59m). 4 Bronze medallists: Jordan CAMPBELL (IG Javelin, 40.59m); Tom SEAR (JB High Jump, 1.78m);Charlie MAW (IB P.V. 4.40);Henry RIDGERS (SB Shot Putt, 14.03m). International Honours 2012/2013 December 2012, SIAB Schools Home International Indoor Pentathlon, Glasgow Leading the winning English Schools Under 16 Girls team Kierra BARKER won the Indoor Pentathlon (3541 points). January 2013 British Athletics International Match, Emirates Arena, Glasgow Representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland Juniors, in the Women s T37 category Olivia BREEN March 2013 SIAB Schools Home International Cross-Country, Wales Representing English Schools Jack BOSWELL finished 11 th June 2013 ISF World Schools Champs Memorial Jan Humbert, Czech Republic Kierra BARKER did well to be selected to represent English Schools. She then went on to win the High Jump in 1.74 metres to become WORLD SCHOOLS GIRLS HIGH JUMP CHAMPION. She also won bronze the 100m Hurdles and part of the silver medalling 1200m Medley Relay squad as the English Schools Select team set a new points record of 785 points as well, winning by a massive 69 points. July 2013 IAAF World Youth Championships, Donetsk, Ukraine Emily JENKINSON finished 5 th in semi-final 2 at the Women s 800m. representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland. July 2013 SIAB Schools Home International Track and Field, Dublin, Ireland Jacob NESS represented for victorious English Schools Boys team himself winning the 400m and helped English Schools win 4x400m win. Oliver BROMBY (4 th 100m, 1 st 4x100m 41.72s record); Andrew MEAD-BROWN 4 th Discus; Leslie PARKES 5 th Hammer. In the victorious English Schools Girls team Kierra BARKER won the High Jump and Leanne DAVIS 2 nd Javelin. December 2013 SIAB Schools Home International Indoor Pentathlon, Glasgow Adam JONES has been selected for the English Schools team at the Indoor Pentathlon. Katya OLDFIELD and Tom MILLER are both selected as first reserves. Future plans 1 To continue to provide athletic experience for Hampshire youngsters at school, district, county and national standard.

2 To continue to provide county-wide championships for both Track and Cross Country for school athletes in years 7 to 13. To support the Track and Field Championships in years 5 and 6. 3 Working with the Schools Games Organisers, try to maintain the structures for schools athletics developed through the old Schools Sports Partnerships, in particular the work done in the Primary sector. 13 age groups through the Schools Sports Partnerships. 4 To continue to develop a higher standard of inter-county competition preparing youngsters better for competitions at national level. 5 To continue to develop the existing coaching scheme linked with Hampshire Athletics Association so that it better provides for the needs of the athletes, as well as fostering better links between schools and clubs, in particular multi events coaching. 6 To continue to support the English Schools Athletics Association in staging major national championships.
