Tour Operator: HTS Total Ski The Hotel: Kirchenwirt Hotel Location In centre of Dobriach, 10km from BKK, 15km from the motorway Hotel Rooms All with private facilities, 2-5 bedded, HTS allocation 50, Total beds 50 Facilities Reception with safe, Dining room and bar, Restaurant, TV / DVD / internet, Ski storage/drying room Meals Breakfast buffet, Packed lunch, 3-course dinner The Resort: BKK This hotel is a great one party hotel, Located on the eastern shore of the Millstatt Lake, this traditional, family run hotel offers a cosy and relaxed Alpine Gasthof atmosphere. Run by the friendly Kendler family, well known to HTS groups, the Kirchenwirt is a great one party hotel The Skiing Beginners will start on the easy green run on the nursery slopes and the intermediates and advanced will head up the chairlift to ski the blue and red runs. Hopefully by the end of the week all of us will be able to ski blue runs. (Pisted ski runs are given a colour according to their difficulty, (green blue red black) The Journey The coach journey via Ferry /Euro Tunnel can last up to 26 hours depending on traffic and weather conditions so bring plenty to entertain yourself such as ipods, books, magazines, games etc. An absolute luxury is a small pillow to lay your head on whilst sleeping and a small fleece blanket to curl up in!! The coach will have a DVD player, and you are all welcome to bring your own DVDs for us to watch but the certificate must be a 12A or below. You should bring food for the journey; however we will be having regular toilet /drink/food stops at service stations. Many European service stations charge for toilet use so change in Euros is advisable. Also food and drink for sale at these service stations can be quite expensive. We recommend students bring enough food to last until arrival at resort. There is also a toilet on the coach for emergencies!!
Itinerary (to be confirmed) Friday 13 th February 2015 2:30pm depart from Sydney road. This is an exact time and will need to leave then to ensure arrival to the ferry on time. Saturday 14 th February Arrive at the hotel mid afternoon. Collect skis, boots and poles from the ski shop. 7pm 9pm Evening meal Lights out Sunday 15th Friday 20 th February 7.30am - 8am - 9am - 10am - 12-1pm Wake up call Breakfast - all members of the party to attend Assemble at hotel entrance ready for the day Ski lesson - all members of the party to attend Lunch (packed lunch provided, students may purchase hot food if they wish) Supervised by ski instructors and staff 1 3pm Ski lesson - all members of the party to attend. 6.30pm - Dinner in the hotel restaurant 7.30 9.30pm Evening activities based at the hotel. 9pm - Students in bedrooms. Friday 20 th February Afternoon Depart Hotel at 6:20pm Ferry Departure: TBC Saturday 21 st February Mid morning arrival at Sydney road. Arrive between 9:00-12:00am depending on traffic. Please keep valuable items to a minimum. If you decide, with your parents' permission, to bring your mobile phone it will be your responsibility to look after it at all times.
Medicines and First Aid If you are taking any medication Miss Healey will look after this for you and you will hand it in to her just before we leave in a large named envelope. We will not normally allow medicines to be kept in student bedrooms. We will carry a first aid kit and a number of general approved items. We do not carry and will not administer any travel sickness tablets. Students should bring their own but give them to Miss Healey while we are there. A medical form will be distributed to each student at the beginning of February. Please ensure this form is completed fully detailing all medication to be administered during the trip and returned promptly. Dry Slope Skiing To ensure your son/daughter has a great time in February it is highly recommended if they have some experience at dry slope skiing prior to the trip. Rules for the ski trip Please remember that Trinity school rules apply throughout the trip. We would like you to act in a thoughtful manner at all times. Students must not behave in a manner that is contrary to the Catholic Church or its teaching 1. Remember to be on time for all meals, meetings and lessons 2. The Hotel has its own rules; make sure you obey them at all times a. Students must not run inside the Hotel b. Noise should be kept to a minimum, at all times, especially after 9pm in the evening c. Ski boots must NOT be worn inside the Hotel 3. FIRE - make sure you know where the fire exits are and listen carefully to fire drill instructions from staff 4. Ensure that your room is kept tidy at all times 5. At night students are to be in their rooms by the agreed time 6. Ski passes to be worn all day and ensure you keep the pass in a safe place at night. They are expensive. 7. Ski helmets to be worn when skiing at all times 8. All students to ski, only in lessons, supervised by ski instructors 9. There must never be any FREE SKIING 10. Ski equipment - Respect the ski equipment, do not use other peoples skis as they are especially set for them, do not fiddle with the adjustments on the bindings. It is extremely dangerous to use other people s equipment 11. Any problem during the lesson please speak to the teachers YOU MAY ONLY SKI WHILST UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF YOUR SKI INSTRUCTOR OR IN THE CASE OF ADVANCED SKIERS MISS HEALEY WHO IS QUALIFIED TO LEAD. If on the very rare occasion we feel your behaviour is affecting the enjoyment or safety of others on the trip, the ultimate sanction is that you will be withdrawn from your ski lessons and the evening entertainment programme and your parents/guardians will be contacted.
KIT LIST Pillow and small fleece blanket for coach Salopettes/Trousers Polo neck top/fleece Thermals (tops and bottoms) Ski socks (at least 3 pairs) Chocolate bars or equivalent (to put in rucksacks for snacks) Ski goggles/sunglasses Ski gloves Lip balm and Sunscreen high factor After sun skin cream Ski tie Hat/neck fleece Casual clothes for evenings Underwear and Nightwear Shoes with good grip for walking in the snow Small rucksack to carry packed lunch (optional) Soap/Shampoo/toothpaste etc TOWEL Personal First Aid kit to include blister plasters, sore throat sweets, cold remedies, tissues Spending money in Euros placed in envelopes per day with childs name on it It is helpful if clothing is named, particularly hats, gloves and goggles which are invariably left on the slopes or coach One large bag/case as main luggage Do not bring unnecessary items. You must be able to carry your own luggage. What to bring for journey: Please ensure that you only bring one piece of hand luggage, for items you will need during the journey. (Water/ light refreshments/entertainment, money in Sterling and Euros) 1 pair of ski socks in your hand luggage Ensure that both of your bags have name tags.
