If you were to ask my think you would hear the following character traits: Tireless Work Ethic; a manager who leads by example and sets the pace for all Team player who sets a vision for the team and motivates all to reach for success Professional who puts the best interest of others ahead of personal gain Reputation in the community for professionalism and integrity Role model for the staff and students Positive outlook on my life - enthusiasm for the future Student of the industry - strives to learn and achieve greater knowledge of my role Willingness to take on tough and/or difficult assignments when no one else will Dedication to the traditions and history of the game and the PGA of America What is your favorite thing about being a PGA Professional? Without question, the opportunity to meet so many different and diverse people over the years is my most cherished memories of the PGA. I have had the opportunity to travel across the country and use golf as the means to make introductions with so many groups. It's certainly the internationallanguage, where celebrities and blue collar America alike have a common bond in the trials and tribulations of their golf game. I have witnessed juniors make strides in a sport that doesn't require the athletic prowess necessary in other activities as well. Watching the faces of children light up when a golf ball they hit explodes into the air makes the day worthwhile for me. My family and I have also experienced the humanitarian efforts of the PGA of America. I am proud to be a part of an organization dedicated to the growth and enjoyment of the game of golf by so many people around the world 5. IIlJIIBAUGHER FINANCIAL EMPLOYEE BENEFITS CONSULTING FINANCIAL SERVICES * August 26, 20 I0 Dear Mr. Riley, I am writing this letter to recommend Mr. Jon DePriest as the Gateway Section PGA Professional of the year. I have known Jon DePriest since we hired him at Sunset Hills eleven years ago. During my membership at Sunset Hills we have had three Head Golf Professionals. All Three have done a good job. However, Jon DePriest stands above the others. I have worked with Jon in my role as Chairman of the Golf Committee, member of the Board of Directors and worked very closely with Jon during the two years I served as the President of Sunset Hills Country Club. Jon AL WAYS carries himself in a professional manner. I have dealt with many golf professionals during my career as we provide employee benefit services to more than 20 public and private courses in the Metropolitan area. I have met a number of quality head golf professionals and I believe Jon is at the top of the list. I believe Jon DePriest epitomizes what a Head Golf Professional should be. He provides service that goes way beyond and above! Probably the best compliment that I can give Jon is that if I would be given the responsibility and authority to hire ANY person for the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf position, I would, without hesitation, hire Jon DePriest. If you have any questions or if I could provide any more information about Jon, please do not hesitate to contact me.
