How to Make a Booking At Lake Mountain Alpine Resort we strive to make the booking process as simple as possible, and have a very flexible approach to adjusting any booking options to suit your schools requirements. We have a few simple steps to making a booking. Step 1 Take a look at the trip options, and decide which one best fits the requirements for your trip to Lake Mountain Alpine Resort. Step 2 Choose your trip date. We are very happy for you to book in for a number of dates and cancel any one at any time, this is a good option as snow conditions can change at any time. We do not require a deposit, and only need a few days notice of your intention to cancel or request a new trip date. Step 3 Email or call the Snowsports Centre to confirm the availability of the trip date, adjust the trip options as needed and talk over any other requirements or quiries you may have. We will need to know an estimated number of students.
Step 4 We require a letter from the school requesting the Resort Entry School Concession price for any trips that you have booked, this letter is to be on headed school paper with the address and details of the school. It can be attached to the booking form and emailed back at the same time if you wish. A copy of this letter will be at the resort entry, which will allow school concession prices to be applied to your group. Step 5 Payment: You are most welcome to pay on the day if you wish, or request an invoice to be sent out to the school via email and post.
Booking Information Before Arriving Please pre arrange students into groups before arriving, we recommend that you arrange the groups in order of skiing ability and into group sizes of 10 plus teachers. Lake Mountain Alpine Resort Ski School requires confirmation of school group numbers within five (5) days of the intended trip date. Failure to do so may result in the full invoice amount being charged. This is to cover the cost of rostered ski instructors for the intended trip booking. Arrival Please arrive at Lake Mountain Alpine Resort at least thirty minutes (30) before the start of the booked lesson time. This gives time for ski hire to be issued to students and students to change clothing if necessary. (From Marysville to Lake Mountain Alpine Resort typically takes 30 to 40 minutes by bus, but this can be longer if road conditions require the fitting of snow chains). We will inform you on the day of any delays expected in travelling to the resort due to snow, weather and road conditions. We will adjust lesson times to cater for this and inform you of any changes. Late Arrival Late arrival may result in the school group missing the allocated lesson time, or reduced lesson duration. If for any reason the school is delayed please contact Administration on 03 59 577 201 ASAP, with an amended arrival time, we will then try to adjust the lesson times. Trip Cancellation We require three (3) days notice of any trip cancellation. Failure to inform Lake Mountain Alpine Resort of the trip cancelation may result in the full booking amount being charged, this is to cover the cost of rostered ski instructors required to run the booked trip. Student Health Requirements Any medical or other special requirements for individual students should be forwarded to the Ski School no later than one day before the intended trip. General Information As a result of the 2009 fires, skiers and snow players are advised to keep clear of trees in high wind. Long Heath Ski Trail is a narrow wilderness trail and is not groomed. It is not suitable for inexperienced school groups unless snow conditions are exceptionally good. There is only limited mobile phone coverage on Lake Mountain. Radios are available for loan to schools groups and may be collected from the ski patrol. (For schools enrolled in ski school packages, radios are carried by instructors.) As footprints are a danger to skiers it is the teachers responsibility to ensure that students do not walk on the groomed trails. Skiers stopping for lunch must not run or walk across trails without skis on. Please ask if you would like the Ski Patrol to address your group regarding mountain safety upon your arrival. Snow Play Guidelines It is recommended that large groups coming for snow play are divided into smaller more manageable units for the day with individual teachers responsible for a specific group of students. This will ensure group numbers can be checked regularly, and the following Toboggan rules are followed: Toboggan only on designated toboggan runs Use only Plastic Toboggans Only sit or kneel according to toboggan design. Standing on boards is not permitted. Snowboards, Skis, Tubes, Plastic Bags and Sleds are not allowed One person per toboggan Do not form trains Walk uphill on the side of run only
