GREEN DRAGON BOWMEN 5 th February 2013 The Station, Knebworth Attendance Denise Carpenter, Mark Carpenter, Diane Bacon, John Bacon Nina Freeman, Gary Bellamy, Jayne Bellamy, Ian Larke, Susan Hook, Paul Hook. Tony Verboom, Derek Ingle, Ian Freeman Catherine Williams, Tina Hanslow, Stewart Bellamy. Apologies Gaynor Hutchison. Dave Leader, Richard Hennessey. Chairman s Report Welcome to those present. Secretary s Report The contract with Knebworth Estates has also now been signed by them and we have received and paid the bill. We have received the insurance renewal paperwork. Despite my attempts to get a quote from NFU (4 phone calls) and their promise that they could get me a quote, they did not come up with anything in time. I therefore asked as many people on the committee as I could for their permission to spend the 636.99 requested by Royal and Sun Alliance our current insurers. This has now been paid. I suggest we contact NFU again in the autumn for a quote ready for the New Year. I have received the confirmation of the booking for the Windsor Shoot and so I asked Jo to book the judges and do the entry form. She has done both and I believe that she has also sent it out. Keith Darkin and Tracey Jackson have been booked as judges. I have continued to receive enquiries about the beginners courses and now only have about 8 places left on the June course. We therefore need to set the September dates. As I said last month I have started compiling a diary dates list for this year. To that end we have received the date from Knebworth Estates of the Sports Weekend. It will take place on Sunday 21 st July 2013. It is being done in conjunction with Herts Sports Partnership. They have also contacted us about running a have-a-go at the jousting this Easter. Apparently they have been approached by Celtic Harmony but

they are giving us first refusal. (Committee agreed we should take part in both of these activities and DC will reply to Knebworth Estates accordingly). We have also been approached by Stevenage Town Twinning Group who has also asked us to run a have-a-go for them in the park, on Sunday May 26 th 2013. After much discussion with the committee it was agreed that GDB s diary for weekends in May is pretty full and we will be taking part in Summer League matches as well. (DC will reply that unfortunately we will be unable to help due to League commitments.) I have received my coaching renewal paperwork. Does the committee have any objections to my continuing to work as a coach within the club?. (Absolutely no objections!) Finally I have received an email from Shaun Jacobs of Jolly Archers regarding a Winter Indoor Classification Award. Apparently for the very first time a range of metal gilt enamel badge awards for achieving the levels of Indoor Classifications (H through to A) as laid down by ArcheryGB. are available. He also sent a photocopy of these badges for us to see. As we are now half way through the indoor season the committee thought this may be a good idea for the next Indoor Season therefore we will give it some thought before then and contact him. There has been a delay in Rob Merison s check being done, as he didn t get his form signed by the club before submitting it. This has now been done and hopefully has been sent off.

A.O.B. JB said she felt that money on the indoor shooting evenings should not be collected until all the equipment had been set out. DC replied that she would send an email out stating this and would remind everybody that it is etiquette for someone to stand on the line when there is only one archer left shooting. MC mentioned that as he has set up the club s savings bank account for online banking he is the only person that can access it are the committee happy with this situation committee agreed no problem with this. SH has asked on behalf of Mick Lavender whether the lighting at Odyssey could be made better DC replied that this would not be possible. DI mentioned that faces for the Windsor need sorting. CW asked whether our Tournaments could be listed in Archery magazines. IL congratulated Gary on achieving second place at the Daventry Triple. Meeting closed at 9.35p.m. Next meeting Tuesday 5 th March 2013 8.00pm at The Station
