Other Comments / Explanations: Ryan Maloney was severely reprimanded for failing to fulfil his engagement in Race 3 due to being unable to make the weight and Adam McCabe was severely reprimanded for failing to fulfil his engagement in Race 7 due to error by his manager. Race 1 - THE BEACH HOTEL MAIDEN HIGHWEIGHT PLATE - 2087 metres: Bardell (NZ) - threw its head on jumping away and lost ground. Near the 1400m improved up onto the heels of Doublecross Dancer and had to be eased. Our Boy Flynn - had to be checked shortly after the start when crowded for room between Street Opera, which shifted in slightly, and High n Handsome which jumped out at the start. Rider Johnathon Carnes was fined $100 for breaching the whip rules in that he used his whip twelve times prior to the 100m. He was further reminded of his obligations to refrain from using his whip when his mounts are out of contention. Stewards took into account this was his first breach of any whip rule however it was a significant breach. Street Opera - near the 1400m had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on heels. Escargot Fabuleux - raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Doublecross Dancer - shortly after straightening was steadied outwards when disappointed for clear running to the inside of Saint Croix. High n Handsome - inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the straight. Tarago Prospector - finished at the rear of the field; trainer Mr Reg Manning advised the gelding would now be retired from racing. Run For Raffin - rider Jamie Mott could offer no explanation for the performance and a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Majals - rider Gavin Bedggood was of the opinion the gelding did not run out the increased distance of todays event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Saint Croix - a post race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery. Race 2 - TURFSIDE BAR & GRILL BM58 HIGHWEIGHT HANDICAP - 2446 metres: Oregons Girl - severely tightened for room on jumping away, eventually having to be checked by its rider when buffeted between Sir Lopez, which jumped out, and Street Outlaw which jumped in.

Sir Lopez - bumped another runner on jumping away and became unbalanced. Bumped out by Black Soul, which shifted out to improve its position rounding the home turn. Street Outlaw - after bumping another runner on jumping away was then crowded shortly after the start by Rue De La Vie which shifted in. My Naughty Hoaks - after obtaining the lead in the early stages commenced to over-race. Became unbalanced when racing close to the running rail near the 1500m. Rider Tom Ryan stated that due to the mares racing manners, it failed to finish the race off as expected. Alec John - near the 1400m had to be checked when clipping the heels of Sir Lopez when the pace slackened. Prakticality - raced wide for the majority of the event. Hezza Tidal Wave (NZ) - raced wide without cover from the 1200m. Rue De La Vie - rider Clayton Douglas was of the opinion the mare may not run out a strong 2200m. Sommernachtstraum (GER) - rider Jamie Mott could offer no explanation for the performance which was below market expectations. Race 3 - BAIRNSDALE SPORTING & CONVENTION CENTRE SV 3YO MAIDEN PLATE - 1216 metres: Better Educated - underwent a minor gear adjustment prior to the start. Bush Wacker - slow to begin. Penrhos - rider Adam McCabe reported that the gelding failed to travel at any stage and when placed under pressure prior to straightening, failed to respond. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Zuberina - when questioned regarding the performance, apprentice rider Ethan Brown explained that the filly, which was having its first race start, began with the field however due to the fast tempo of the race, and despite him attempting to urge the filly along in the early stages, could not keep in contact with the field and as a result settled towards the rear. He added that when under pressure in the home straight, his mount made moderate ground to the finish. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Rumah Tinggi - acting on a third party report that the filly was in distress post race, Stewards requested to trainer Mr Darryl Blackshaw for the filly to be brought back on course after it had initially left within the allowable timeframe. This post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken for analysis.

Race 4 - CUB MAIDEN PLATE - 1016 metres: Mighty Meerkat - after being slightly slow to begin then had to be eased when crowded between Van Buren Boy, which shifted in, and Costa De Hero which shifted out slightly. Passing the 800m began to race keenly and was steadied when racing tight between American Icon and Mishnah. Inspired Estelle - commenced awkwardly. Little Rattler - shifted out on jumping away with its rider Michael Carson becoming unbalanced. Mishnah - crowded for room at the start when bumped by Prontezza, which shifted out. Near the 800m was steadied and got its head up when tightened for room between Costa De Hero, which was racing tight on the inside of Van Buren Boy which was also having to be steadied when racing close to the heels of White Lioness and Prontezza (Ryan Maloney) which initially shifted out slightly before getting its head up when racing ungenerously; Ryan Maloney was advised to exercise more care when in similar circumstances. White Lioness - raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Raced greenly in the straight. Van Buren Boy - raced wide from near the 800m. Race 5 - WINNING EDGE PRESENTATIONS BM58 HANDICAP - 1016 metres: Pakaya Prince - commenced awkwardly. Held up for clear running approaching the home turn and gained a run on straightening when Mukdalight shifted out when laying out. Winter Solace - slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages. True Ladys Man - commenced awkwardly, shifted out and bumped Royal Archie. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Dungas Dude - bumped at the start. Raced extremely wide for the majority of the event. Royal Archie - bumped at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Gold Rust - near the 700m, got its head up when being checked to avoid the heels of Mukdalight (Jordan Childs). At an inquiry regarding this incident, on the evidence provided by the riders, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that Jordan Childs had contributed by shifting in and therefore no action was taken other than to remind Jordan Childs he must be sufficiently clear of runners when shifting ground in future. Mukdalight - laid out rounding the home turn.

Barely Made It - rider Adam McCabe stated in his opinion the gelding did not appreciate todays Soft 7 track conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Written Consent - post race veterinary examination identified the presence of blood at both nostrils. The gelding shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months thereafter; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000m in the presence of a Steward. Race 6 - S&S EQUIPMENT HIRE BM58 HANDICAP - 1016 metres: Lochend Sam - slow to begin. Atunnah Courage - stumbled on jumping away. Henagan (NZ) - raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Friendwithbenefits - was inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the straight. Hitch em Up - rider Ben Allen could offer no explanation for the performance and a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trench Fighter - rider Ethan Brown could offer no explanation for the performance and a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities other than a slower than normal recovery. Snitzilla - rider Jarrod Todd could offer no explanation for the performance and a post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the near foreleg and will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again. Race 7 - MONACELLARS BM64 HANDICAP - 1116 metres: Keep Courting - connections advised would be ridden back today from the wide draw; restrained from the start to obtain a position at the rear of the field. Marthick - slow into stride. Shy Frank - commenced awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Stride Out - raced wide for the majority of the event. Aristides - near the 900m had to be eased to avoid the heels of Stride Out. Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn.

Super Bryan - rider Ryan Maloney reported his mount travelled well until rounding the home turn where it commenced to give ground. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 8 - THE WIN NETWORK BM58 HANDICAP - 1216 metres: Falcent (NZ) - connections advised would be ridden back from the wide gate; settled in a position towards the rear of the field. Jakusie King - commenced awkwardly. Our Miss Bossy - hampered at the start by Shandaara (NZ) which jumped out. Letter From Paris - after being loaded into its barrier stall, the tongue tie became dislodged, however owing to all bar one runner being loaded, and the tongue tie had fallen directly at the mares feet, the starter decided to for safety reasons and for the fact that a substitute tongue tie could not be found, to start the race without re-affixing the aforementioned gear. Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 500m was briefly crowded for room between Nadeems Melody and Famelist. Rider Ibrahim Gundogdu reported the mare choked down. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. All Australian Gal - held up for a short distance rounding the home turn. Gods Tilla - rider Jack Martin was severely reprimanded for using his whip six times prior to the 100m. Internship - rider Jake Bayliss reported his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 9 - SAVIGES RD FAST & EZY BM58 HANDICAP - 1628 metres: Fantastic Magic - commenced awkwardly. Riyadh (NZ) - slow to begin. Cheval Du Jour - in the early stages commenced to pull hard and near the 1400m had to be restrained when being crossed by Coldens Diva. Continued to race extremely erratically having to be steadied out near the 1200m before again gaining cover near the 1000m. Rider Dale Smith reported the racing manners of his mount in the early stages resulted in his mount not being able to finish off. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Anothermasterpiece - got its head up when being restrained near the 1100m to avoid the heels of Cheval Du Jour (Dale Smith) which shifted in; Dale Smith was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care.

Panda Eyes - rider Ben Allen stated his mount was not suited to todays track conditions and a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Ankara - rider Ibrahim Gundogdu stated his mount was not suited to todays track conditions and a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Delightful Son - rider Jordan Childs stated his mount was not suited to todays track conditions and a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
