Tahiti Golf Open International 31 st edition TYPE OF EVENT INTERNATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT JUNE 24-28, 2015 ATIMAONO GOLF COURSE, PAPARA TAHITI BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT The Tahiti International Golf Open, an international event that has become even more renowned due to its successful past. For 30 years, the Tahiti International Golf Open has been the premier golf event in French Polynesia. Year after year, it has become even more popular among Polynesian golfers, local businesses and professional golfers throughout the Pacific. Even the youngest players are included in this event with an entire day of competition dedicated to them. After the junior tournament, a PGA golf pro will conduct a golfing clinic. It s an immersion session for learning the basics of golf. This particular day will inspire young golfers to set goals, feed their ambitions and to learn from players who make a living doing what they love. Thanks to partnership with the Professional Golfers Association of Australia (PGA), the Tahiti Open is part of the professional circuit in the pacific. Each year, the competition recognizes the participation of about 50 professionals and 40 amateurs.
TAHITI GOLF THE SCHEDULE AWARDS EVENING For this 31st edition, The French Polynesian Golf Federation and Tahiti Expert Events will bring you an exceptional evening for the awards ceremony. A show, entertainment and other surprises are on the schedule to close out the Tahiti International Golf OPEN. SUNDAY JUNE 21 Junior OPEN The first day will be launched with the youngest players from golf schools in Tahiti and on Moorea. An exciting time is on the agenda! In the afternoon, several golf pros will demonstrate their skills be- fore making the little round ball dance during the famous Pro Clinic. The junior winners wards will finish off the day. WEDNESDAY JUNE 24 PRO-AM An official opening ceremony will open up the day in a friendly envrionment. Several teams comprised of one PRO and three ama- teurs will compete in a relaxed atmos- phere. This is a dream opportunity for an amateur golfer of any level to be able to play 18 holes with a renowned international golf pro. This tournament which is open to everyone, allows to recompense the sponsors and partners of the OPEN. THURSDAY JUNE 25 1 st Round OPEN The 1 st round places different golfers against each other. The TAHITI OPEN involves 72 holes in 4 days, a real golf marathon at 18 holes per day. Rankings are tabulated through adding daily scores. FRIDAY JUNE 26 2 nd Round OPEN Golfers from abroad are starting to get used to the course and have recovered from their jet lag They are at the top of their game and the best are making their mark. SATURDAY JUNE 27 3 rd Round OPEN/CUT All eyes will probably be glued on the last round, which will take place around noon with the top three players in the general rankings. In fact, after the 3rd round, starting times during a big OPEN, such as the one in Tahiti, take place in ascending order of the rankings. SUNDAY JUNE 28 4 th and final round of the OPEN Awards and cocktail dinner.
Schedule of additional activities Fun workshops will be available, parents as well as children will enjoy the Atimaono Golf Course like never before. Putting Contest This friendly putting competition will reward the top three participants. Based on a simple principle : Hit the ball into different holes with the least amount of shots. Quiz Game Golfers must follow the rules of the game, conduct and values while on the course. This workshop will test participants over rules, vocabulary, and general golf culture. Participants with the correct answers will draw for prizes. Pony Rides Pony rides will be offered to children for an open-air trek. Guides will be available so children can ask any questions and discover the daily lives of ponies. ON THE COURSE Scavenger Hunt What better way to enjoy Atimaono s stunning setting than to participate in a special PRO-AM scavenger hunt. Simple, fun and many prizes to be given away. TAHITI GOLF GOLF TOURNAMENT RULES All challenges are open to French and international players according to the Rules of Amateur Status. Players must be licensed by FFGolf or be a member of a recognized golf federation. Players must have a medical certificate validating their ability to practice golf. For players licensed in France, the certificate must be registered with FFGolf before the event begins. Failure to comply will result in a rejection of the registration. Players from abroad who are not licensed in France must furnish their medical certificates upon registration.
STYLE OF PLAY PRO-AM JUNe 24 Scramble - gross and net scores 1 Pro + 2 to 3 amateurs (Index taken to 24.4) Golf carts are only authorized for the PRO-AM. Shotgun 9:00am - Assembly at 8:00am (FPG Awning) All players must show up ready to play 30 minutes before tee time. In case of a late starting time, then rule 6-3 conditions will apply. Registration fee for the competition : 10,000 cfp* (approximately 83 euros). Prizes : A round trip ticket Papeete/Auckland offered to the first three, plus various lots. *Includes invitation to cocktail dinner June 28 at 6:30pm. Men : 1 series (index limited to 24.4) Ladies : 1 series (Index limited to 24.4) Teams consist of 2 pros and 2 amateurs for the first two days The 30 best amateurs (Male/Female mixed rankings) will make the cut on Day 3. First tee-offs 7:30am. Last tee-offs 2:00pm. All players must be ready to play 10 minutes before scheduled tee-time. Registration fee for the competition : 20 000 cfp* (approximately 166 euros). Prizes (for professionals): prize money of 10 million cfp (approximately 83 333 euros) and various lots. *Includes invitation to cocktail dinner June 28 at 6 :30pm. important Note Withdrawal must be notify to the tournament committee at least 2 days prior the event. No refund will be accepted after this time, except in the case of force majeure. - Traditional golf attire is mandatory on the course (Bermuda shorts, golfing pants and polo golfing shirt with a collar). Blue jeans, T-shirts and tank tops are prohibited. - Players behavior in a nonsportsman-like manner (throwing clubs, hitting the ground, the bag or the cart with a club, cursing, etc.) will receive a 1st warning, then be assessed a two-stoke penalty. Players with dangerous and insulting behavior (throw a club, member insult etc) will be disqualified by the Committee orb any referee.
