Sports Prep Panther Volleyball Club Sport Prep Panther Volleyball club provides year-round Competitive and Developmental programs for student athletes between the ages 8-18. We focus on providing positive experiences for athletes by developing fundamental skills and techniques, enhancing athletic performance, developing character and sportsmanship. Competitive Team Tryout Fee-$40 USAV Lone Star Region Membership Fee-$45 www.lsvolleyball.org *Tuition is paid on the 15 th of each month *Fundraising- Team Spirit shirts will be available for purchase as a fundraiser. Shirts worn by players will be provided and sold only by Sports Prep. This shirt cost is not included in the tuition cost. There is a $2 upcharge per size. *Competitive Lady Teams are called Lady Panthers. *Developmental Lady Teams are called Lady Cubs *Deposits for Competitive Club Tournament Teams Deposits are due lo later than 48 hours after you receive confirmation that your child has been invited to join the club. To secure a roster spot, a club deposit is due at that time. Deposits that are unpaid, SPUSA has the right to offer that spot to another player. *Developmental Teams players do not have to tryout-they only register to participate in the program. Registration and deposits are on a first come bases. Tryouts consist of all players that are trying out for the Competitive Teams. Competitive players will be informed the day of or receive an email within two days if they made the club. *Returned Checks- $30 *Late Tuition Fees will apply. All players are responsible for financial obligations
throughout the season. If a player decides to quit at the beginning or during the season, the player is still responsible for tuition throughout the remainder of the season. This policy is void only due to medical reasons. Players must submit a medical note signed by a doctor. *Practices are two hours two times a week for all teams and players. CYPRESS ATHLETES-Practices will switch from Tues./Fri. to Tues./Thurs usually at the end of February. This information will be sent out via email to remind you and will also be posted on the website. *Tournaments-Competitive level Panther Teams participate in 1-2 local tournaments a month. *Developmental Teams play 4 local Tournaments throughout the season. *Communication- Parents will receive the majority of information from the website and email. Information will be posted. Sports Prep website offers top functionality. Parents will have personal accounts to view and post approved photos and video on their team s page, connect with social media, and collaboration with all club members. *Parent meetings Orientation meeting- Offers an introductory, information, management, SPUSA club philosophy, policies and procedures, about SPUSA volleyball club. Team Meeting- Offers coaching philosophy, team management, organization and individual meetings with the teams coach. Club Meeting- offers information/ feedback to the entire club. Summative Meeting- offers an end of the season meeting to the entire club. Note for Sports Prep Competitive Teams Only: All Competitive Players athlete must be registered with Lone Star Regional Volleyball organization. You can do this by going to www.lsvolleyball.org. Click on registration at the top of the page. You will then either click on the returning player icon or new player icon. There is a $45.00 Lone Star membership fee for all club players.
The Medical History and Release Form, Media Release, Code of Conduct and Financial Agreement should be printed out and turned in to SPUSA as soon as the athlete has been informed that they are on a Competitive Team. These are mandatory documents that must be turned in before any player can practice or play. Notes Many tournaments start times are at 8am. Players must be at the tournaments site 45 minutes prior to the start of the tournament. However some tournaments may start later. Parents will receive an email and information will be posted on the team s website page. Always check tournament times start times and locations. Many tournament brackets are posted on Thursdays. SPUSA will email tournament reminders. You may go to www.sportsprepusa.org to view or copy the bracket for the upcoming tournament. Things to bring to tournaments. - Portable chair, reading & writing material, radio & head phones and jacket. Tailgating No food or drinks or allowed inside the facilities. Bring food and drinks to be added to the SPUSA Champion Tailgaters booth, which will be located out side the facilities. Each team will have volunteer team reps to coordinate with the Head coach tailgating.
Medical Release & Waiver (Parent / Guardian signatures are required for all participants) In signing this form, I hereby waive release and forever discharge any and all claims which I or my child, may have or which hereafter accrue to me against the sponsors of this event, the organizers and any promoting organization, property owners, law enforcement agencies of public entities, special districts and properties and their respected agents, officials, and employees through by which the events will be held for any and all injuries which may be sustained by me directly or indirectly in connection with or arising out of my participation in or association with the event or travel to or return from the event. I further certify that I am or my child is physically able to participate in this event and have no physical or medical condition which would endanger me or others in this event. Athlete/Parent Participation Agreement For Athletes: I pledge the following. 1. I will demonstrate good sportsmanship regardless of the score. 2. I will show respect to all event officials, coaches, players, and parents. 3. I will not argue with or question decisions made by the on-field officials. 4. I will not use drugs, tobacco or alcohol at any practice or game and will remind others on my team not to do so. 5. I will shake hands with the other team at the conclusion of all events. 6. I will shake hands with the officials at the conclusion of all events. I understand that I can be suspended from the Club for violation of this Player's Code of Conduct. ****************************************************************************** For Parents: The essential elements of character building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. I therefore agree: 1. I will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults. 2. I will learn the rules of the event and the policies of the governing bodies. 3. I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy. 4. I (and my guests) will demonstrate positive support for all players, coaches, officials and spectators at every game. 5. I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent 6. I (and my guest) will not engage in tactics such as booing or taunting. 7. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. 8. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect. 9. I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard, and make my child feel like a winner every time. 10. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for making a mistake or losing a competition. 11. I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win. 12. I will respect the officials, game administrators and their authority before, during and after games. 13. I will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game either during or after the game. 14. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all sports events. 15. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team. 16. I understand that this is a practice to play program and NOT pay to play. An athlete MUST attend practices IMPORTANT: If an athlete has continuous absences for practice or misses a tournament, Sports Prep has the right to terminate the athlete from their team with no monetary reimbursement granted. Parents will still be responsible to fulfill their financial agreement with Sports Prep USA. If an athlete misses a tournament for a death in the family or any family emergency, the athlete will inform the coach and volleyball director before the tournament, and staff will make the final decision if it is excused or unexcused. Absence due to injury will only be excused if a doctor s note is provided and a return to play note must also be provided. In the case of an absence the athlete will be required to complete a conditioning exercise Do Right Drill before being allo wed to participate. This will have to be completed for EACH DAY the athlete was absent. Please do not make any family vacations during Spring Break as in the past there has been tournaments either the weekend before or after Spring Break. Your child/athlete has made a commitment to her TEAM and TEAMMATES. Their team relies on each player and absences greatly affect the success and chemistry of the team. I also agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines at practices, events, & Hotel sites, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following: Verbal warning by event officials, head coach, and/or head of governing organization Parental event or season suspension Event Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty assessed against team Team event forfeit through the official or coach Player Signature Date Parent/Guardian Signature Date
MEDIA RELEASE FORM I hereby give permission to Sports Prep USA media to photograph, video tape, and place on the web and hold interviews with my child. It is my understanding that photographs, videos and interview portions thereof will be used for public view. I agree to participate in these projects without financial remuneration, and I understand that this releases Sports Prep USA from any future claims, as well as from any liability, arising from the use of the said photographs, videos, and interviews. FINANCIAL AGREEMENT Parent and Player agree to pay the total fees due on time as laid out in the payment agreement. Player and Parent understand that all payments must be received by Sports Prep Volleyball Club on the agreed upon date for the payment to be considered on time. Player and Parent understand there are late fees for any and all monies collected after the agreed upon date. Parent and Player understand that there are no refunds of any monies paid once a player accepts a spot on a team for any reason except of injury with a doctor s note provided. If you choose to stop participating, you are still financially responsible for the tuition in full. You will only be relieved of the tuition if we are able to fill your child s spot with another player. Parent and Player understand that monies paid to Sports Prep Volleyball Club do not guarantee any particular amount of playing time, positions within a team lineup, leadership roles, or duties. The Parent and Player agree that they are responsible for their signed and agreed upon team fees. Parent and Player understands that all team fees are to be paid using the web based automatic payment system set forth at www.sportsprepusa.org. Player and Parent understand that Sports Prep uses an Automatic Debit process for payment of monthly fees.
