Directions From the North From CT, first exit on I-95 in NY, Exit 21 (I-287 west) to NYS Thruway (I-87/I-287) west across the Tappan Zee Bridge. Exit 15 from NYST (I-287 south) to New Jersey. Take I-287 Exit 1 onto US 1 south. US 1 south through Princeton to I-95 south towards PA and Philadelphia. Take I-676 west onto I-76 west. Follow Directions below. From the South Take I-95 north toward Philadelphia. At exit 13 (Pennsylvania) take PA-291 west onto I-76 West. Follow directions below. From the West Take I-76 east and follow directions below. All other collegiate categories are only open to full time students with valid USAC Collegiate licenses. USA Cycling Collegiate, USAC annual and 1-day licenses available for sale on site. Intro Races Intro races will be held for college students that are new to racing. These races are conducted with coaches riding along giving help and providing tips and tricks. Racers should report to the start line 30 minutes before their race for an off course instructional period. Registration Pre-registration for the Philly Phlyer will be handled by BikeReg. Racers must register before 3/14/2013 @ 11PM. Access to the pre-registration site can be accessed using the following address: Registration will be open on race day for a late charge of $5. One day licences will also be availablefor racers to purchase on site. Please complete this by 3/13 @ 11:59PM. General Notes Yellow line rule will be strongly enforced for the TTT and circuit races! Saturday and Sunday s races will be held on closed roads. Staging begins ten minutes before starts. Men s D and C fields may not be split depending on participation. Men s A and Women s A TTT starts 3 or 4 racers and scores on the 3rd finisher. All other categories will start 2 to 4 racers and score on the 2nd finisher. Clubs are welcome to field multiple squads.
Team/Individual Time Trial 14 mi Team Time Trial March 16, 2013 8am Start Course is 14 miles long on wide, scenic roads. Proceeding counter clockwise around the couse, rides start with a decent heading down to West River Drive, then head towards Center City. After a turn around near the Art Museum, riders start the scenic journey to the other end of road for another turn around. Riders then repeat the second half of the course before heading up Black road for a final climb before the heading to the finish line. Roads will be completely closed to traffic but riders must respect the yellow line. NOTE: Teams will be leaving in 30 second intervals, and individual riders will be leaving in 20s intervals. Schuylkill Scrambler 6.5 mi Circuit Race March 16, 2013 10am Start Proceeding counter-clockwise, the race starts in front of Philadelphia s landmark Memorial Hall and takes a fast, wide open curving descent onto scenic river side roads. A long, flat stretch allows racers to get their legs ready for a moderate climb up and around Strawberry Mansion. Another fast, curving descent delivers riders back to the river and a long drag race toward a swift climb and several quick corners before opening up for the sprint between the arches of the Pennsylvania Civil War Memorial. Temple University Crit.9 mi Collegiate Criterium March 17, 2013 8am Start CYCLING Superficially a textbook, flat, fast, 4-corner traditional crit, the Temple Criterium is at the heart of Temple s main campus, and will take you around wide corners past undergraduate dorms, the Student Activity Center, and the practice facility for the university football team. The start/finish is just out front of the Bell Tower, Temple University s veritable agora, where prominent preachers & protestors alike have come to make their message heard and the perfect place for racers to show off their latest victory salute.
