FA-T226-A Product Data Sheet Roxar 2 System Mechanical Retrieval Tool The Roxar 2 Mechanical Retrieval Tool is a high quality tool for installation and retrieval of probes and coupons in standard 2 mechanical access systems under full operational pressure. The tool is compatible with access systems provided by most common vendors on the market. The tool works on a telescopic principle, comprising a fixed inner barrel and an outer barrel that moves during operation. Probes/ coupon holders are installed or retrieved by pulling or pushing the outer barrel, assuming a balanced pressure within the tool. Roxar 2 Mechanical Retrieval Tool comes as a kit including retrieval tool (complete with pressure gauge and bleed valve), back pressure pump, and spare parts - in a convenient transport case. From a safety perspective, Roxar 2 Mechanical Retrieval Tool is designed for use with a double block and bleed valve, to ensure double pressure barriers for the valve 1) Roxar Service valve is described in separate data sheet. Safety Notes: Operating any telescope type mechanical retrieval tool is a potentially safety critical operation. If pressure is not balanced within the mechanical retrieval tool under operation, the pressure difference may push the outer barrel with uncontrolled force and speed, and in consequence, hit and injure personnel and equipment. It is therefore required that a Back Pressure Pump is always used with Roxar 2 Mechanical Retrieval Tool when operating on pressurized lines or vessels 2). High pressure retrieval tools must only be operated by trained personnel and according to controlled operating procedures. 1) Single service valves also available ask vendor for advice. 2) Observe that Roxar recommend Hydraulic Access and Retrieval Tool system as a safer (no external moving parts) and more convenient (less operational space required) alternative. Mechanical Retrieval Tool Dimensional Data Back pressure pump for Mechanical Retrieval Tool A back pressure pump shall always be used to raise the pressure inside the retrieval tool to be slightly higher than the pipe pressure. This will ensure that the outer barrel of the tool will not accidentally move uncontrolled during probe/coupon removal.
