A candidate may apply for this scholarship to help with any type of equine related activity that will educationally benefit the candidate. Candidate maybe nominated by another candidate. Classes 33, 34, 35 Lead Line Equitation, PEL not to exceed Ground poles - Open Junior riders 9 years of age and under. Riders may not have competed off the lead or in any other class/division at any show. Leader and side walkers must be over the age of 14 and appropriately dressed. Class 36 Shinny Hinny 50/50 Payback Scholarship Class Judged in hand with halter and lead. Horses with be judged based on the best groomed. $25.00 per entry will be added to the prize purse. 50% of the prize purse goes to the winner of the class and the other 50% will be collected throughout the show year and add to the HVHS Scholarship fund. Classes 37, 38, 39 Pleasure PEL- Open to all horses and ponies. To be shown at a walk / trot/canter both ways. To be judged with emphasis on manners and suitability as well as soundness and performance. May be asked to halt and/or back up or additional commands.
