There has been a change in suppliers and the liner is coming from Houston and will require testing before it can be installed, so possibly Spring 2018. MOVED by Mayor Ranta THAT Sofia Demasi, CFO be authorized signing authority to replace Sheila McCutcheon, with all financial agencies that the Village of Cache Creek has dealings with. Pugh, Executive Director Civic Info BC, for a one-day workshop with best-selling author Daniel Burrus, one of the world s leading futurists on global trends and innovation. 2) Official Opposition Correspondence from Todd G. Stone, MLA, Official Opposition Critic for Municipal Affairs with an invitation to meet with Council at the 2017 UBCM Convention. 3) City of Abbotsford Resolution Correspondence from the City of Abbotsford requesting support for their resolution The Case for Prevention of the Opioid Crisis to be considered at the 2017 UBCM Convention.
REGULAR MEETING HELD THE 18th OF SEPTEMBER, 2017 VOLUME 33, PAGE 311 4) Minister Robinson Introduction Correspondence from the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Selina Robinson with an invitation to meet with Council at the 2017 UBCM Convention. H) Landfill Advisory Committee Councillor Coomber & Councillor Dubois 7. STAFF REPORTS: A) Chief Administrative Officer 1) New owner of the Bear s Claw Lodge 2) South Cariboo Driving School. 3) TNRD has installed the container at the recycle depot for disposing of the plastic bags. 4) We have had many production companies in the area scouting filming locations, recently the Village received $1200 revenue. The company representative was very complimentary of Cache Creek as a Community. 5) CFO Demasi settling in to her role she has met her coach and Mentor and is excited to work with her. The posting for the Casual Finance Admin closes September 29 th. 6) CAO Gervais met with TRUE to receive an update on the Asset Management, a number of decisions were made to move the project forward. There will be an Asset Management committee formed. 7) CAO Gervais met with Gold Country Teri Hadwin to discuss the office feasibility study, CAO Gervais to report further on this at a later date. 8) Maren Luciani who is leading the Age-Friendly Assessment and Action Plan has reached out to Councillor Dafoe about being part of the project steering committee 9) There will be more trees and shrubs ordered for the park extension project. PW has been instructed to flail mow the area and remove all the alder and or poplar shoots, and to level off the area to make it more appealing and useable to the public. 10) CAO Gervais has had an inquiry from a gentleman wanting to build a home and hanger at the airport, further discussions to continue. 11) There will be 4-5 unsightly premise letters being mailed this week 12) There were two water breaks on Collins Road, both breaks were at the main. 13) CAO Gervais and Fire Chief Tom Moe have chosen a fire truck estimated cost $40,000 can most likely be delivered in December, but has not been ordered as of yet, waiting to hear back from salesman. 14) Stage Road Improvement Project has been given an extension until October 2018 for completion, Confirmed by CFO Demasi Councillor Dubois inquired about the tree purchase, what budget are they coming from, CAO Gervais responded that we have a budget for this project as well as some grants. Councillor Dubois asked are we tracking these breaks is this a trend?
REGULAR MEETING HELD THE 18th OF SEPTEMBER, 2017 VOLUME 33, PAGE 312 CAO Gervais responded that its copper pipe break down and we probably can anticipate more breaks, as brought forward by Mayor Ranta in a previous meeting about equipment that is able to detect these issues, CAO Gervais will be checking the trade show floor at UBCM for information. Mayor Ranta is very pleased with the continued interest in Cache Creek from the Film industry and says that CAO Gervais is responsible for this and says Thank-you. Thank-you for taking the time to write a welcome letter to the new owner of the Bear s Claw in Cantonese very considerate. Thank-you for having the dirt moved at the park much more appealing to the residents and usable. 8. INFORMATION CORRESPONDENCE: THAT Council receives the following Correspondence. 1) Climate Action Charter Congratulations received from the Green Communities Committee for efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the Village of Cache Creek over the 2016 reporting year. 2) Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations, BC Wildfire Service Information Bulletin: Area restriction update for Elephant Hill wildfire 3) BC Climate Leadership Council Invitation to Council to attend the Climate Leadership Institute on November 1 3 to further advance climate action in the Village of Cache Creek. 4) School District #74 The Board Bulletin 9.
