TRAIL BLAZING SAMS FLORIDA CHAPTER # 47 February, 2017 Issue 4 of 9 Newsletter Year Nov 2016 Oct 2017 PRESIDENT VICE PRESIDENT SECRETARY TREASURER John Russano Ray Turner Mike Lima Linda Kuiken (352) 200-1280 (813) 779-9561 (813)220-8116 (941)365-1453 February Campout February 14 19, 2017 Florida Good Sams Winter Rally North Florida Fairgrounds, Tallahassee, FL The Monday before the Rally, ten TBS rigs caravanned to the Suwaneee River Rendevous Resort in Mayo. The pull through sites were nice and wide. We played Holey Board and enjoyed a relaxing Happy Hour. Good Friends. Good Times Braving the gnats to have a delicious pot luck and a lot of laughs

Page 2 PARKING AT THE RALLY We arrived Tuesday morning and started setting up. With a little help, everyone got connected to electric and water.. We had some nice shade under the oak trees to play holey board and just sit around and visit. WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU GET LOCKED OUT OF YOUR COACH?. While the rest of us sat in our chairs watching the show, Ray Turner just hoisted John Russano up and through the window. No ladder needed. The only thing missing at this show was the popcorn. Serge and Richard. Great Spot to Park Locked Out No Ladder Needed Up and In (Better Lock Your Windows)

Page 3 The Trail Blazer OPENING CEREMONIES Fifteen TBS rigs including two guests and 3 members who are on the State Staff attended the Winter Rally in Tallahassee. Food, games, fellowship, mostly nice weather and some memorable moments made this yet another great Rally. TBS hosts the Indoor Games, Bocce Ball and the Flea Market so we stay very busy. Flag bearers Vice President Ray Turner and President John Russano Great picture of Serge Frechette Waiting for the Parade of Colors Ken and Linda Kuiken With State Staff in the background We all wear our uniforms on Opening Night

Page 4 The Trail Blazer INDOOR GAMES For many years, TBS has been the Chapter host for all the Indoor Games Cribbage, Euchre, Pinochle, Hand & Foot, Skip-Bo, Wizard, Chicken Foot and Mexican Train Dominoes. TBS modified the rules for each game to fit within the allotted time window, so the games go smoothly. We also designed the score sheets and everyone has a great time. This year we had an added challenge verify all the Hand & Foot card boxes (4 decks of cards in each box). Many hands make light work and we all enjoyed the camaraderie. Standing Left to Right: Joanne Lima, Carolyn Rilling, Linda Kuiken, Juliet Dudinsky (our fearless leader), Jeannette Ormsby, Ruth Hemphill, John Russano Seated: Joan Russano and Rita Turner TBS Workers At The Indoor Games Juliet and Jeannette showing off their winning Cribbage badges Jeannette won First Place in Euchre Joanne tied for Second Place

HOLEY BOARD Page 6 At Eustis, Robin Murray and Cotton Deal won the Holey Board competition. At this Rally, TBS has quite a few teams competing. Jeannette and Richard Ormsby made it to the semi-finals. We will all have to practice between now and Okeechobee. We all sure did have a good time playing.
