In the fourth trip to the Mills Cup Championship Series, the Pelicans suffered their second Series loss. It was the club s first trip to the Finals since 2008, when they also lost to Potomac three games to one. The Pelicans are now 04 at Pfitzner Stadium alltime in the playoffs. Myrtle Beach allowed seven runs in the first five playoffs games combined but 17 in the two games at Potomac. Potomac Nationals Notes The Championship is the Nationals fifth in franchise history and third since becoming the Potomac Nationals in 2005. DH John Wooten, who singled twice on Wednesday, won the Series MVP. He hit three homers and drove in seven runs in the Mills Cup Series.
