About us Exeter Food Action is part of the Devon and Cornwall Food Association, and reclaims and redistributes excess food to organisations around Exeter that feed people. We employ one staff member, and have a team of over 50 volunteers, who all work to help stop food from going to landfill, aerobic digester or being used as animal food. While we acknowledge wider issues, we exist as an organisation in order to challenge the wastefulness that exists in our society, and do what we can with whatever food we can save. We work with wholesalers, manufacturers and retailers, and share this food with soup kitchens, hostels, food banks, community cafes, schools, and any other organisations that feed people, but do so not-for-profit. Our service is free, and we are financed entirely by grants and donations. What can we use? We are happy to receive almost all kinds of food, and are able to take goods in large levels. Our warehouse (Kendall Store, Spinning Path, Blackboy Road, Exeter, EX4 6SN) allows us to store dry food, fresh food and frozen food. Any food that is unusable is composted and shared with a local allotment collective if at all possible. Our own waste levels are very very low. www.exeterfoodaction.org
