Location The Statue of Liberty is on an Island called Liberty Island a few miles away from New York in the Unites States. The Statue of Liberty is also surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. Green Changes The Statue was first copper but then it turned green. how can that be?first the Statue was copper because it was made out of copper.however the weather caused the statue to turn green. Acid rain soon caused it to become a green color. Weather always affects an object when it is exposed to its conditions for a long period of time. This is how the Statue of Liberty turned green.

Freedom of Liberty The Statue of Liberty stands for two different things The torch on the Statue stands for Liberty as opposed to the Statue itself stand for freedom.the Statue stands for many things from friendship between different nations to freedom.

Chapter 3:How Was The Statue made? Building Time The Statue of Liberty was built by the French using sheeting of pure copper on a Framework of steel with exception of the Flame of the torch which is coated with golden leaf.
