In 2003, Baseball America recognized Roger Dean Stadium as Baseball s fifth-best Spring Training facility, behind Dodgertown (Dodgers site in Vero Beach), Disney s Wide World of Sports (Braves site in Orlando), Legends Field (Yankees site in Tampa), and Surprise Stadium (Royals and Rangers site in Surprise, Ari.). Roger Dean Stadium is located slightly more than one hour s drive north of the Club s regular-season home of Dolphin Stadium. The complex is located on approximately 110 acres within the Abacoa community. Abacoa is located on Donald Ross Road, approximately ¼ mile east of Interstate 95. The Marlins share the Palm Beach County facility with the St. Louis Cardinals, the only multiple team Spring Training site in the Grapefruit League. The $28 million state-of-the-art complex opened on February 28, 1998 and accommodates 7,000 fans with luxury sky box seats, field and loge box seats, bleachers and berm seating. The ballpark seats approximately 6,700 and another 300 fans can spread out on a blanket and catch a closer glimpse of the game from the berm seating, located just in front of the Party Deck in right field. The six air-conditioned luxury suites provide 320 square feet of interior entertainment including wet bar, refrigerator, sink, ice maker, color television with VCR, bar stools, sofa and additional seats. Each suite offers seating for 12 (outdoors) and is available with private entrance and elevator access. The Marlins begin their 15 th Spring Training with an exhibition game on Tuesday, Feb. 27, when they host the University of Miami Hurricanes at 3:05 p.m. The Marlins play their first Grapefruit League contest the following day, Wednesday, Feb. 28, when they are the visitors at Roger Dean against the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:05 p.m. The Marlins spent their inaugural Spring Training at the Cocoa Expo Center in Cocoa Beach and played nine years (1994-2002) at Space Coast Stadium in Viera (Melbourne). Following Spring Training, the complex is the home to the Class A Jupiter Hammerheads (Florida Marlins affiliate) and Palm Beach Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals affiliate) of the Florida State League. Admission to all Marlins Spring Training games requires an MLB Spring Training credential, a BBWAA card or a Marlins daily Spring Training credential.

Players that have left the game early can be made available, upon request, in certain instances. Manager Fredi Gonzalez will be available following the game. When the Marlins play on the road: The visiting clubhouse will open upon bus arrival, up to 15 minutes before stretch/batting practice begins. We request that, due to typical size restrictions of visiting clubhouses, TV interviews be conducted outside the clubhouse. Players will not be available once batting practice begins. Other players that have left the game early will be made available, upon request, in certain instances. Manager Fredi Gonzalez will be available in the dugout prior to and following the game. The clubhouse in Jupiter will not be open to media. Media needing a player that does not make a road trip, should make arrangements with the Marlins PR staff to accommodate your needs. Photo Locations: There are photo bays on the far ends of each dugout at Roger Dean Stadium. Priority will be assigned to daily papers and wire services. Because of space constraints, no television cameras will be permitted in the field level photo locations. They will be assigned locations based on space availability. Roving is prohibited, unless specifically authorized.
Stadium Live Shots: Roger Dean Stadium will be available for postgame live shots. Please contact the Marlins media relations department with all live shot requests at least 48 hours prior to the day s event. Meals will be available for purchase, and admittance requires a MLB Spring Training pass, a BBWAA or scout s card, or a Marlins spring credential.
