Northwest Arkansas struck first with a two-run double from DH Frank Schwindel in the 1 st, before the Cardinals countered with a solo blast by 1B Luke Voit in the 4 th. The Naturals, though, added two in the 5 th and the 6 th to stretch the lead to the eventual final of 6-1. With the 1 st Half Title, Springfield guarantees a return to the postseason for the first time since the Cardinals won the Texas League Championship in 2012. Make it 10 1B Luke Voit extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a solo home run and a single on Wednesday, going 15x36 (.417) with three homers, eight RBIs, three doubles and a triple during that streak. It marks his second-longest hitting streak of the season, as he rattled off a 13-game streak from 5/2 5/15. Off to an excellent start to July, the Wildwood, MO native is hitting.364 (16x44) through 12 games to start the month. DeJong delivering With an RBI in four of his last seven games, 3B Paul DeJong continues to pace the club and rank 4 th in the league with 54 RBIs on the year, which also leads the entire Cardinals farm system. The 22 year old also leads the team and is tied for 4 th with 15 home runs, ranking 2 nd in the system. With at least one knock in 16 of 22 games since 6/15, he is hitting.299 (26x87) with five home runs and 15 RBIs during that stretch. Naturals against Northwest 1B Luke Voit and 3B Paul DeJong have helped lead the Cardinals to a 10-7 record against Northwest Arkansas this year. Voit leads all current Cardinals with a.349 average against the Naturals, while adding four home runs and nine RBIs through 17 games. DeJong has paced the Cardinals with six home runs and 12 RBIs against the Naturals. Staton staying hot With hits in each of his last three games, 2B Allen Staton has continued a terrific start to his Double-A career. Through his first 10 games, he is hitting.324 (11x34) with one home run and six RBIs, collecting at least one hit in eight of those 10 contests. His best game so far was a 3x3 night with a double, his first Double-A home run, three RBIs and three runs on 7/8 vs. CC.
