The English+ Golf deal is a week-long package and includes fi ve afternoons on North Foreland Golf Club s main or short course, as well as one afternoon trip to historic Canterbury and its cathedral, a world heritage site. and the challenging 71-par, 6,436-yard main course located on free-draining chalk downland. And once you have completed your round, you can relax in the comfortable clubhouse bar and restaurant. About Broadstairs Broadstairs is a seaside town on the Kent coast, an hour and 20 minutes from London by train. It has a population of around 25,000 and was recently voted one of Britain s two best resorts by the national Guardian newspaper. Broadstairs enjoys a reputation unique among UK seaside resorts, maintaining an atmosphere quite different from the rest of seaside England. Offering sandy beaches, cliff-top walks and streets of independent shops and museums, there is plenty to do in Broadstairs and in the surrounding area during the day. In the evening, you can sample an excellent choice of criticallyacclaimed restaurants serving great local, Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. It has a wealth of lively, traditional pubs and winebars, many offering great sea views and a variety of live music. Broadstairs is also host to a range of events. Each year, the town celebrates its links with Charles Dickens the author stayed in the town for his summer holidays and wrote much of David Copperfi eld in Bleak House. He also based the cottage where Betsey Trotwood lived on what is now the Dickens House Museum, located in Victoria Parade on the seafront. The annual Dickens festival is held in June. During the second week of August, Broadstairs also hosts one of Britain s largest folk festivals. The town s streets, parks, pubs and bars, gardens, beaches and promenades fi ll up with musicians, Morris dancers, Appalachian clog dancers, rapper sword dancers and many other performers as they entertain the crowds with their skills. Arts, crafts. clothing and food stalls also take over Victoria Gardens during Folk Week. Broadstairs is the perfect place to stay if you want to learn Engish in England.
