Operations such as sawing, routing, drilling and sanding can generate dust. Dust generated during handling of Quartz Surfacing Products can contain particles of crystalline silica (quartz). Overexposure to airborne quartz can cause silicosis. Warning symptoms: Symptoms of silicosis include coughing, difficulty breathing, wheezing and progressive impairment of lung function. Potential Health Effects Eyes Quartz : Dust contact with the eyes can lead to mechanical irritation. Inhalation Quartz : Gross overexposure may cause: Breathing difficulties, Fever, Cough, Lung damage, May be fatal if inhaled in large quantities.. Repeated exposure 1 / 8
