Visiting by Train The average journey time between London Euston and Nuneaton is 1 hour and 7 minutes. The closest train station is Nuneaton (10 minutes by taxi). Visit www.nationalrail.co.uk to plan your journey. Visiting by Bus Arriva s Hinckleybus allows visitors and employees to travel from Nuneaton and Hinckley town centres to MIRA Technology Park. The buses stop at the stations in Nuneaton and Hinckley every 30 minutes and also connect with Atherstone and Tamworth every hour throughout the day. For the latest timetable please refer to www.arrivabus.co.uk/midlands The bus stop at MIRA Technology Park is referenced as Higham-on-the-Hill MIRA. Visiting by Taxi Please ensure your taxi remains on site while you sign in at Security as you may require the transportation to take you to your meeting location (we do not operate a shuttle bus service on site). Visiting by Air - Birmingham The nearest international passenger airport is Birmingham International, located 40 minutes away (approx 23 miles). Visiting by Air - Heathrow Heathrow (also known as London Heathrow) is a major international airport in London. Heathrow is located 2 hours away (approx 110 miles). Confidentiality Agreement All visitors need to sign our confidentiality agreement on arrival. What should I expect on my arrival at MIRA Technology Park? Your host will advise you which security Gate to register at when you arrive. As you approach the Gate, please pull into the car park on the left hand side of the road before walking to the Gate (all vehicle occupants will need to be registered). Drivers will be issued a parking permit upon their arrival. If you require any assistance please call Reception on +44 (0)24 7635 5000 or Security on +44 (0)24 7635 5229. Policy MIRA Technology Park has a no photography policy due to the sensitivity of projects taking place, therefore cameras should not be brought to site. Mobile phones and imaging devices (laptops/tablets etc) should be declared at Security upon arrival so a sticker can be placed over the camera lens. Please have your imaging devices ready for Security. Should you need to bring photography equipment on site, please advise your host as you will need to complete a permission form 24 hours before arrival. Cycle Parking There are some cycle hoops opposite Gate 1 and outside our Control Centre. Bicycles must be stored in the cycle parking areas only. Smoking Smoking on MIRA Technology Park is only permitted in designated outdoor areas. Please contact your host for the nearest designated area. Important Information HORIBA MIRA and MIRA Technology Park is a secure R&D location where confidential vehicles frequently operate and where potentially hazardous activities are conducted in facilities under controlled conditions. To ensure you have a successful and safe visit, please be aware that we have some site specific controls in place that we ask you to respect. Safety footwear must be worn beyond this point All speed limits and other signposting must be strictly observed. Visitors must comply with all road signs, safety signs and prohibited area signs. It s illegal to ride a motorcycle or drive using hand-held phones or similar devices. The rules are the same if you re stopped at traffic lights or queuing in traffic. www.gov.uk/using-mobile-phones-whendriving-the-law If you are driving to our site, Security will issue you with a parking permit upon your arrival. Please ensure this is displayed in the front of your vehicle at all times. Visitors shall respect the confidentiality of others using the MIRA Technology Park facilities and whilst on the premises shall not approach or inspect any vehicle with which they are not specifically concerned. Information obtained regarding any matter other than that connected with the purpose of the visit shall be treated as totally confidential. This pass is only issued to MIRA Technology Park visitors following a written undertaking that there are no cameras in the vehicle. Cameras may only be taken into the premises with the prior written authority of the Senior Operations Manager of MIRA Technology Park or The Proving Ground Manager. Some facilities on site require visitors and staff to wear PPE all times e.g. high-vis, safety shoes. Contractors will only be admitted to site on production of a valid Contractor s Agreement in respect of the area to which access is requested, or if a current permit authorising work by a contractor in the requested area is held on file by Security. Visitors to the MIRA Technology Park should ensure that any lifting tackle, portable electronic equipment/tools, compressed gas equipment/ tools or equipment/tools otherwise powered Children brought onto and used on the premises are regularly tested and certified to show compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. In the event of a fire alarm or any other emergency, all visitors must comply with the directions of HORIBA MIRA staff or Security. When the fire alarm is heard, visitors should assemble at the nearest FIRE Children ASSEMBLY POINT. Other persons not directly connected with the visit, animals and children are not allowed Childrenon our site. Admission to certain facilities requires proof of the satisfactory medical condition to the user. It is your responsibility to comply with the Wireless Telegraphy Act 2006. Please ensure you have declared all radio transmitting equipment to the gatehouse on arrival and can demonstrate its compliance. Visitors to and users of the Proving Ground must report to the Control Centre and check in with Track Control and take a radio BEFORE accessing the Proving Ground through the entry barriers.
