VOLUME 8, ISSUE 19, FEBRUARY 15, 2018 Athletes Honored at Eighth Grade Night on February 12th On Monday, February 12, 2018, the eighth grade athletes walked down the court with their parents to be honored on Eighth Grade Night. These athletes were involved in basketball and wrestling. The players were given red roses to give to Abby Hartley and her mother as they walk down the court. Also, Wyatt Burns announced facts about each player, such as Abby Hartley wants to be a lawyer when she gets older, Another example was Emma Post wants to be a photographer when she gets older. Bland Middle School Patriots boys and girls basketball seasons came to a close, as they faced the Buckhannon Buccaneers on Eighth Grade Night. Eighth Grade Night is a night dedicated to show appreciation to all of the eighth grade athletes. For the girls, the athletes were Lauren Wyatt, Emma Post, Brooke Butcher, Abby Hartley, Brianna Watson, Jaelyn Romans, and Haley Burkhammer. For the boys, the athletes were Christian Mullins, Caleb Halterman, Trenton Murphy, Ethan Smith, and Dakota Moore. The wrestling team also had their Eighth Grade Night.
