THE TBD5PBA YOUTH CHALLENGE ZONE ROLL-OFFS OCTOBER 18, 2015 1:00PM GALAXY LANES FORMAT Youth bowlers aged 13, but not yet 19, as of December 31, 2015 will bowl a five game scratch tournament to determine our Mens, Ladies and Mixed teams that will advance to the Northern Ontario 5 Pin Bowlers Association Youth Challenge Provincials at the Whitewater Lanes in Azilda on December 5, 2015. COST NOTE: NEW THIS SEASON BRING-A-BUDDY PROMOTION $50/bowler but if a youth who bowled last season at the zone round brings another youth who did not bowl in last season s zone round, you BOTH pay $40/bowler (BOTH BOWLERS SAVE $10)! The top three mens and ladies bowlers at the Provincials will advance to the Canadian 5 Pin Bowlers Association Nationals to be held in Winnipeg, Manitoba on March 17-19, 2016. At the C5PBA Youth Challenge Nationals, bowlers have a chance to not only win medals, but the top men and lady bowlers in the tournament earn a $1000 scholarship towards their future education. ACCIDENTS The C5PBA and the host committee undertake no responsibility for damages or injuries suffered by bowlers. As a condition of and in consideration of the entries in these championships, all competitors shall be deemed to agree to assume all risks of injuries to the competitor s person and property resulting from, or caused by or connected with the conduct and management of competitions and to release any and all claims that they may have against the officials, the association and the host committee and against their officers, and their entries shall be accepted only on these conditions. THUNDER BAY DISTRICT 5 PIN BOWLERS ASSOCIATION GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT FOR THE 2015-16 YOUTH CHALLENGE To be eligible a bowler must: 1. Be thirteen (13) years of age and not yet nineteen (19) years of age as of December 31, 2015 who are a member of the YBC, or a C5PBA member 2. Properly complete the entry form for the event, complete with parent and guardian s signature, if required, giving the bowler permission to compete in the zone and Provincial Roll-Offs, should the entrant advance that far. 3. The Parent/guardian, or the entrant by signing this form, absolves this association and its affiliates from any and all legal responsibilities for any personal injury sustained by the entrant during the time the entrant is traveling to, and competing in or traveling from these competitions. GENERAL RULES 1. Entry fee is $50.00 for the Qualifying Roll-Offs which is 5 games. 2. Entry fee and Entry Form must be submitted to a Thunder Bay Bowling Centre or to the Tournament Director(s) no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday Oct 16th, 2015. Late entries will be accepted only to fill out the lane draw. 3. The Qualifying Roll-Offs will be held at Galaxy Lanes on Sunday, October 18, 2015 commencing at 1:00 p.m. 4. A10 minute warm-up will be allowed. Bowlers should register at the lanes at least 30 minutes prior to the starting time to be advised of their starting lanes and position. 5. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or drugs may be used by the bowlers before, during or after play. The penalty for such use will be immediate suspension from further competition for at least one (1) year and will mean the disqualification of that bowler. This includes any bowler who may have turned 19 after December 31, 2015. 6. No food or drinks will be allowed in the bowler s enclosure. 7. The top 7 men and top 7 ladies plus top 8 th place man or woman based on total pinfall in their qualifying round shall qualify for Men s, Ladies and Mixed teams atthe Provincial Championships which will be helddec 4-6,2015 atwhitewater Lanes in Azilda. 8. All competitors qualifying for the Zone teams will participate in the Singles competition at the Provincial Championships. The top three ladies and the top three men will qualify for the National Championship to be held March Mar 16-20, 2016 in Winnipeg, MB. 9. In the event of a tie for any qualifying position, a one (1) game Roll-Off will be held to determine the final placing. 10. All bowlers must start to bowl at the same time and no bowler will be allowed to catch up missed frames for any reason and his/her score counted only for those frames bowled. 11. A curfew of 12:00 midnight will be enforced by Coaches, Manager and those who accept billets at any level of competition. 12. Bowlers must travel to and from any Provincial with and as part of the team. Independent travel will not be allowed 13. Coaches for the Men s, Ladies and Mixed Teams will be selected by the Teams at the end of this tournament 14. Any bowler whose wearing apparel is deemed by the Judge of Play to be obscene by picture or printed word will be disqualified from further play. 15. The use of foul language during any level of these competitions will disqualify the bowler from further play. This includes practices and travel as well as during the competition itself. 16. The uniform to be worn at the Provincial and National level must include black dress pants.(not provided) 17. Canadian 5 Pin Bowlers association rules will be in effect should any dispute arise which is not covered above. The decision of the Tournament Director will be Final.
