Third Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) This information note has been compiled to assist you in the preparation for your participation in the Third Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM). ADMINISTRATIVE ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE MEETINGS The UN-GGIM Secretariat, in collaboration with the Ordnance Survey, will be hosting the Third Session of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) in Cambridge, United Kingdom from 24-26 July 2013 at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge City Centre. The Third Session of UN-GGIM is held in conjunction with the Cambridge Conference. The program for the events begins on Sunday morning, 21st of July, with a side event for the Working Group on Global Map for Sustainable Development. The Third Session of UN-GGIM begins on Wednesday, 24 July 2013, with an opening ceremony, followed by various technical sessions on a range of topics. The opening session shall start at 2:00pm. Special registration process: Whilst no registration fee is required for the UN-GGIM session as a UN conference, special accommodation and logistical arrangements for these events were made with the host country in such a way that all participants will have to go to the website of the Cambridge Conference and register: www.cambridgeconference.com Map of the GGIM Session and Accommodation Venues: 1. By road From the M11 (northbound) Exit at Junction 13 (signed for Cambridge and Bedford). At the end of the slip road, turn right into Madingley Road (A1303) at the traffic lights and follow the road towards the City Centre. Take the left-hand turn into Storey's Way, and Churchill College is on the left. 4

From the A428 from the west (Bedford, St Neots) Take the first exit signed for Cambridge (A1303). At the end of the slip road take the second exit (straight ahead) at the roundabout. This will bring you into Madingley Road (A1303). At the traffic lights, follow the road towards the City Centre. Take the left-hand turn into Storey's Way, and Churchill College is on the left. From the A14 from the east (Newmarket, Ipswich, Norwich) Take the third exit signed for Cambridge (Cambridge and Histon B1049). At the end of the slip road, take the first exit at the roundabout (B1049 towards Cambridge). After approximately 2 km this road ends in a large junction controlled by traffic lights. Turn right at the first traffic lights and right again at the second traffic lights onto Huntingdon Road (A1307). Follow the road towards Huntingdon (past Murray Edwards and Fitzwilliam Colleges) and turn left into Storey's Way. This junction is marked by a traffic island in the middle of the road. Storey's Way has two sharp bends, the first to the left (where there is a width restriction) and the second to the right. Immediately after you have taken the second bend, the Churchill College buildings will be ahead of you on your right. From the A14 from the west (linking with A1, M1 and M6 from the north) Take the first exit signed for Cambridge A1307 (avoiding the M11) and then keep right, to avoid the A14 signed for Newmarket and the bus lane. This brings you into the City along the Huntingdon Road (A1307). Pass Girton College and the Girton turning on your left. Take the next right-hand turn into Storey's Way, which is marked by a turning lane in the centre of the road with bollards. 5

Storey's Way has two sharp bends, the first to the left (where there is a width restriction) and the second to the right. Immediately after you have taken the second bend, the Churchill College buildings will be ahead of you on your right. Parking Parking is available at Churchill College and will be clearly signposted. Bus services in Cambridge Information on bus services in Cambridge can be found on the Cambridgeshire County Council website: http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/transport/around/buses/atoz.htm. The Uni 4 operates on Mondays to Fridays from 07:00 19:30 with three buses an hour, between Madingley Road Park and Ride and the Addenbrooke's Hospital site. The Citi 4 operates three times an hour, on weekdays, between Cambourne and King's Hedges (providing a link between the College and the city), and hourly on Sundays. Upon leaving the station, go straight down Station Road and turn right onto Hills Road. Walk down Hills Road, which leads on to Regent Street. Turn left into Downing Street, and then turn right after the Crowne Plaza Hotel onto Corn Exchange Street. The Corn Exchange is at the bottom of this street. Taxis are availible outside of the train station. 6

By road From the A14 from the west (linking with A1, M1 and M6 from the north) Leave the A14 at junction 31, then keep in right-hand lane and continue forward onto the A1307 (Cambridge). At the traffic lights continue forward onto the A1134 (Ring Road, Newnham). Then immediately, at the traffic lights, turn right onto the A1134 (Ring Road). Bear left onto Shelly Row (A1134). Bear right onto Albion Row (A1134). At the traffic lights turn left onto Madingley Road (A1303). At the roundabout take the second exit onto the A1134 (Ring Road). At the next roundabout take the first exit onto the A1134 (Ring Road, Haverhill). At the mini-roundabout turn left. Then immediately, at the roundabout, take the second exit onto the A603 (road number not shown). Turn left onto Tennis Court Road. Turn right onto Downing Street. Turn left onto Corn Exchange Street. Turn left onto Wheeler Street. From the A14 from the east (Newmarket, Ipswich, Norwich) Leave the A14 at junction 35, then, at the roundabout take the first exit onto the A1303 (Cambridge). At the roundabout take the second exit onto the A1303. At the traffic lights continue forward onto the A1303 (City Centre). At the roundabout take the second exit onto the A1134 (ring road, City Centre). At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A603 (Kite, Regent, Downing, Queens Areas). At the traffic lights continue forward onto Lensfield Road (A603, All Other Routes). Turn right onto Tennis Court Road. Turn right onto Downing Street. Turn left onto Corn Exchange Street. Turn left onto Wheeler Street. 7
