At this time their field is in limbo. I received several calls from concerned PCC members and they urged that we offer P.A.M. our field until their field situation is resolved. I called Brian Chan, their President, and offered him the use of our field as long as one of our members is present. Let s make them feel welcomed, until this is settled, either as future members.or.as Aeromodeler neighbors. At the November meeting, we will be nominating club officers. After 2 years, I will be stepping down as Club President. As President of PCC, it has been a very rewarding experience. I would like to thank Marco for being a great Vice President and the rest of the officers and the Executive Board for their help and support for the past 2 years. So it s time for some new blood to take over. There will always be new issues coming up and some fresh thinking (ideas) are welcome. I will stay on as part of the Executive Board as past President. So start thinking of who you believe would make a good Officer or take the leap yourself. The Holiday Party will be at Harry s Hof Brau on Saturday, January 21, 2006. Tickets will go on sale in December. Tickets will be $25.00 each. Bring your spouse, kids, and friends. The flea market was a social success and limited monetary success. We made $70 for the club treasury. Next year we will advertise more to other clubs and make signs for the local hobby shops to get more outside attention so we have the potential for more buyers than sellers. At the November meeting, Ellsworth will start collecting the 2006 membership dues. Be sure to bring your AMA card and your checkbook. See you at the November meeting! Keep em charged and keep em flying! Ray Peninsula Aeromodelers Guest Flyers! Before heading out to our field, visit our website and go to Membership Info to view our club rules. Don t forget to bring your AMA card. You are welcomed to fly with us! Minutes - October 19, 2005 Kirk Phaling The October PCC meeting was devoted entirely to the first and experimental "Flea Market". The number and variety of items was not that great. And the overall attendance was low. There were some good buys. PCC made more from the flea market than last year from the auction, but still not by a large amount. However, was it a success from the sellers view. That will probably be answered in a review at the Nov. meeting. Nominations for 2006 PCC officers will be made at the Nov. meeting. Additional nominations can be made in Dec. and then voted on. Treasurer s Column Ellsworth Crowell P.C.C. club members. Do I have your attention!! Please get your A.M.A. for 2006 renewed "NOW". You need your 2006 A.M.A. to renew your P.C.C. membership for 2006. When you receive your 2006 A.M.A. card, mail me a copy of it along with your check made out to P.C.C. for $65.00. My address is: Ellsworth Crowell 424 Oxford Way Belmont, CA 94002-2752 Our flea market at our October meeting went off smoothly but we needed more sellers and buyers. P.C.C.'s profit from the auction was $70.00. We had fun. Let's all look forward to P.C.C.'s banquet at Harry's Hoffbrau in Redwood City on January 21, 2006. We had fun last year. Let's do it again this year. Ellsworth Raffle Corner Dennis Lowry & Oliver Salles That flea market was quite interesting. You quickly view all the tables and then come back and concentrate on what you're really interested in. The atmosphere was more relaxed and there was a lot socializing. Of course we missed the antics of John Bassetto, although he did do one of his classic poses for the camera. (See pic below) Wolfgang Nitschmann from Reflex products (they put out a flight simulator) saw our beautiful field and just had to have it added to his flight simulator. The program will have a PCC flying field. I've seen pictures of other fields that he's done and it is beautiful. Not just animations... a real picture. Flight simulators are a great way to learn new maneuvers and to help you get rid of bad habits and acquire good habits. I strongly recommend getting one. They are fantastic for those days you can t fly. Christmas is coming up so drop lots of hints! Just thinking about it, our field is one of the best I've ever flown on. I know I ve said it before but I keep thinking it. No garbage dump or sewage smell. And on smooth days, it just can't be beat. Glassy. Like using a flight simulator. And it should be getting that way soon. And the ocean view!!! The latest news is that the City of Half Moon Bay put a stop to all activities at Peninsula Aeromodelers field. Seems that they needed to get all of the landowners permission in order for the City to issue a Use Permit. Two of the landowners objected to their presence. Without a lease or use permit the Peninsula Aeromodelers are in violation of zoning ordinances. After many years of communications, the City decided that they would not be able to meet their requirements so they are asking them to leave. There s an article about this in the Half Moon Bay Review dated 10-27-2005. You can either pick up a HMB Review or view the article online at: http://hmbreview.com/articles/2005/10/27/news/local_news/st ory06.txt That s prudy! You can fly this electric in a nearby school yard if it s socked in or blown out at our field. It s quiet. Shhhhh! At the November meeting we have an E-Flite Mini-Edge 540 3D ARF up for grabs. It's the hottest new plane out there, and outfitted correctly it'll make your hair stand up straight. Good luck, but you've got to come to the meeting to win!see you then. Dennis and Oliver! If PA loses their field, we might be getting more members. So some are questioning just how many members do we really want? What kind of a club will it become? Our club has been devoted to mostly just fun sport flying. I ve belonged to clubs where their main concern was the promotion of racing or pattern or IMAC. This may be fine for a few but it means that the field will be shut down during these events. Remember the IMAC contests we used to have? No flying for the entire weekend. Is this what we want? Something to think about. Ellsworth was telling me that while the Bay Area was socked in with fog, it was sunny at Lake Hennessey. Maybe you should try some float flying and make it up there with Jake and the guys? If you have any questions about float flying, I m sure Jake would be more than happy to give you advice from his years of experience. Editor s Column Paul Lum 2 Paul

Newsletter Submission Deadline: Third Tuesday Before The Next Meeting! Does Geg Heuman Exist? Even with the fog, we had some beautiful flying days as can be seen with this picture of Mickey and Bob. Our Webmaster, Greg Heumann ripping and jamming the Blues with his band 'Blue State' at the Broadway Lounge in Redwood City Wednesday night. If you like the Blues, check it out with Greg and catch his next gig. Check out their website at http://www.bluestateband.net Thanks to Jim Rhiemholz for this picture and the info. Upcoming Events November 16 Club Meeting, 7:30PM, Millbrae Library, nominations for new club officers 26 Float Plane Fly @ Lake Hennessey* Ken got to the flea market early so he and Frank were able to get some great deals before most. Banquet: Harry s Hofbrau R.C. Banquet: January 24, 2006 3

Here Frank is examining a foam wing that was part of a kit. Caught in the act. A $100 bill passing between Ken and Dennis. Who got what? But both look happy! Here's a beautiful biplane built by Ed Bussing. Some of the guys looking at a plan of an airplane. Eric examining parts of a damaged Cub. Joe and Frank greeting each other. Joe swapped his pattern ARF for Harry's Pizzaz. 3D Joe??? 4

More airplanes, more guys, more socializing. Ellsworth was busy too, signing up another new member. Ramzi looking over Ed's biplane. Good looking bipe. John doing his auctioneer pose. Memories!!! Frank was ready to yell out a bid. Ken, Ed and Jake shooting the breeze while Ells carefully examines the books. Ed s got so much enthusiasm. More new stuff meant a crowd. Like friendly vultures! 5

Careful examination or just lookie lu's Not everything was sold as Olivier went home with his glider. But he still shined and there will be next year. Andrew got something he wanted and Harry was happy. Wolfgang Nitchmann with his special camera. He is the owner of a company that produces a flight simulator. He wanted a picture of our field because it's so beautiful. Chuck looking at an engine and trying to decide on whether to make an offer. I think he got a really good price. 6 Wolfgang setting his camera on the runway to get a 360 degree picture of our flying site.
