THIS WEEK S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS: THE BOSTON BRUINS WEEK AHEAD MAY 20 MAY 27 GAME 4 SET FOR SATURDAY AFTERNOON ON NBC: Tim Thomas second career shutout helped propel the B s past Tampa in Game 3 and gave the Bruins ha 2-1 series lead. Game 4 will be played in Tampa on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. ET (TV: NBC, RADIO: 98.5 The Sports Hub). Thomas was awarded the Bruins jacket after the game, his team-leading fourth jacket win of the season. For the full jacket tally, please see the note below. GAME 3 SETS RATINGS RECORD: According to the NHL, Last night's Boston Bruins at Tampa Bay Lightning game (8:00p-10:45p) on VERSUS delivered a 14.9/22 rating/share in Boston and 584,000 viewers. Ratings peaked at a 19.0/30 rating/share and 718,000 viewers during the 10:15-10:30p quarter hour. Last night's game is now the highest local rating ever for an NHL game on VERSUS. SEGUIN STEPS UP: In his first three career playoff games, all in the current Eastern Conference Finals against Tampa Bay, Tyler Seguin has three goals and three assists. During the second period of Game 2, Seguin exploded for two goals and two assists, while playing only seven shifts in the period., tying an NHL record for most points in a period by a rookie POSITIVE THINKING: Among the top 15 playoff leaders in plus/minus rating, eight are Bruins. Chris Kelly is tied for the league lead at plus-10, Zdeno Chara is third at plus-9, Milan Lucic is tied for fourth at plus-8, and then Nathan Horton, Michael Ryder, Dennis Seidenberg, Andrew Ference and Patrice Bergeron all check in at plus-7. In five-on-five situations in this year s playoffs, the B s are outscoring their opponents 39-20. WORKHORSES: After averaging 23:32 of ice time in the regular season, Dennis Seidenberg leads the Bruins with his playoff average of 28:36. That mark is good for second among playoff skaters. His regular season average this year was the highest of the 29-year-old s career. Seidenberg s D partner Zdeno Chara ranks fourth in the postseason in average time on ice with 28:29, just seven seconds shy of Seidenberg. 98.5 THE SPORTS HUB TO GO LIVE FROM THE GARDEN: 98.5 The Sports Hub will broadcast an hour-long pre and postgame show from Maker s Mark Crossing in North Station before each Bruins home game this round. SECOND ROUND CAPSULE: - The Bruins advanced to the ECF with a 4-game CSF sweep over the Flyers It was the 13 th sweep of a best-ofseven series in their history and their first since 2009 (CQF vs. MTL). - The Bruins won their fourth OT decision of this postseason with a 3-2 win on May 2 in Game 2, marking their first postseason with four overtime wins, matching a club mark for one playoff year (first set in 1978). -The Flyers put 54 shots on Tim Thomas in Game 2, which was the third highest shots allowed in a playoff game by the Bruins and the most since Montreal took 58 on April 3, 1947. -David Krejci scored the GWG in three of the four games vs. the Flyers, becoming just the third player in team history with three GWG s in one playoff series (Mel Hill, 1939 SF and Roy Conacher 1939 Finals). FIRST ROUND CAPSULE: - The Bruins advanced to the CSF with a 7-game CQF series win over the Canadiens It was the first series victory in their history in which they won after losing the first two games as they entered this post-season with an 0-26 series mark in that situation. - Three of their four wins came in overtime with Michael Ryder ending Game 4 and Nathan Horton settling Games 5 and 7 It was the first series in which they have played three overtime games since their 1998 CQF vs. Washington and was their first with three overtime wins since their 1943 SF vs. Montreal.

- It was their 20th lifetime Game 7 and they are now 10-10 in those games... It was their fifth Game 7 decided in overtime and they now have a 3-2 mark in those contests. 71 STRAIGHT: The Bruins ended the 2010-11 regular season having sold out 71 consecutive home games at the TD Garden. The Bruins sold out every regular and postseason game during the 2010 calendar year, the first time the organization has done so since the 1972 calendar year. THE STAT OF THE WEEK, COURTESY OF THE BOSTON BRUINS WEEK AHEAD STAT MACHINE: David Krejci s goal at 1:09 of the first period held up as the game-winner tonight and was his fourth game-winning goal of this post-season (first three games of CSF vs. Philadelphia)... That ties him with Cam Neely as the only players in Bruins history with four game-winning goals in one playoff year (Neely had one vs. Hartford in 1991 DSF, two vs. Montreal in DF and one vs. Pittsburgh in CF). 1ST GOAL POOL ON TWITTER: Congrats to the following followers of @NHLBruins who correctly guessed Tyler Seguin as the Bruins first goal scorer during the Bruins/Lightning game on Saturday (Game 1): @jamie924, @teala, @heyitskenisha, @KimLboston, @tmasonboston, @bellasorrentino, @Caseyloves26, @Jayolson12, @HereEvan, @ryan_lafleur, @cory1222, @itsholllllyy, @weatherwiz, @ACAlandinc, @KRunBikeRun, @smurfy71, @Shawn1173, @BlueNGoldBomber, @ezidel, @scouto18, @5592bob, @jraywright, @Kenny4CITYWIDE, @johnzito16xx, @danieljcabral, @JeffreyKirchick, @nsnowie, @lauraxx20, @jennifer03878.
