Another Resounding Success Over 700 Riders! Lyme Land Trust s 2015 Tour de Lyme An early morning mist hanging over Ashlawn Farm soon burned off to a brilliant spring day as over 700 riders set off to explore our bucolic and lightly traveled roads. s signs marked the routes. Volunteers at rest stations offered drinks, snacks and encouragement. The end reward? A great picnic. The Tour de Lyme offers a unique opportunity for sponsors to be associated with a healthy outdoor activity enjoyed by people of all ages. They also show their support for conservation and land preservation since the purpose of the ride is to raise money for the Lyme Land Trust. Our 4th annual Tour de Lyme will be on May 15, 2016. Our land management responsibilities have grown dramatically over the past 48 years where we are now responsible for the stewardship of almost 3,000 acres with associated costs which have increased substantially. The Lyme Land Trust has effectively worked, with the support of the residents, to help create a unique rural atmosphere through almost 50 years preserving farmlands, wetlands and forests. It is paradise for outdoor activities for all to enjoy. We celebrate cycling as a wonderful outdoors activity for all ages and offer rides of varying length and challenge to accommodate the avid skilled rider as well as a gentle and fun family ride. Lyme is the ideal venue for a cycling event Road and mountain bike enthusiasts in the area already know Lyme as a biker's paradise.
