2014 Coquille 13 15 Babe Ruth Baseball Program Spring Session The Spring baseball program will be divided into two sessions. The First session will start with the normal Spring registration and the second session will provide a late registration to accommodate High School Players that cannot play until they are released from their high school rosters. Session one begins with the regularly scheduled start of the Coquille baseball program. The format and schedule of this session will completely depend on the number of players registered. A league will be formed and made up of teams selected through a player draft if there are enough players to fill out at least 4 teams of 12 or more players and will include a 12 Game season with an end of season tournament. If there are less than 48 players registered, players will be separated into an A, B and possibly C group, possibly along age lines that will practice and scrimmage on the weekdays and/or weekends. An official schedule of at least 8 league games will be completed between the selected teams and will be provided by the park. This schedule may be supplemented with games with parks in the immediate area (i.e. Pelican Park, Hammond, etc.). These games could include limited travel during the week or on the weekends to those parks. In this case, the individual teams may schedule games outside of the official schedule; however, any games/ tournaments at Coquille must be scheduled through the Babe Ruth baseball director and any games that are played away from Coquille that are not officially set up by MYB will be at the expense of the individual teams and their players/ parents. Session Two Session two will start at the end of the high school baseball season (Season ends 4/27/15) and will be open to players that are currently on high school rosters and members of the early session Double Play team. The second session will have its own tryout and team selection process. Each team will play at least 8 games to allow all players to become Babe Ruth eligible. This session will consist of 14-18 year old players and participation is subject to evaluation of the player s ability to play at this level. The session format will be a mixture of weekday and weekend tournament style games that may include Babe Ruth Teams from other areas. The All Star teams for each age group will be selected from all players whether from the first or second session. There is no guarantee that any player in any session will be selected to the All Star team for any age group.

ALL STAR/DOUBLE PLAY Double Play will begin as soon as registration begins - early attendees will be invited based on past performance during league, double play and all star play - the double play program will headed up by the following coaches: o 7 s - Coach Mark Landry o 8 s - Coach Roger Mitchell o 9 s - Coach Chad Piot o 10 s - Coach Joe Guillory o 11 s - Coach Louis Passauer o 12 s - At this time unassigned o 13 s - Coach Joby Cauble o 14 s - Coach Rodney Keys o 15 s - Coach John Chilton o 16-18 s - Coaches Dale Navalance and Jeff Tircuit - The purpose of our double play program is to give kids the opportunity to grow their baseball skills while competing at an All Star caliber level - The selection of these teams is based on a players ability to play at an All Star level. Selection to these teams can occur at anytime. Including prior to evaluations based on past performance, during evaluations, based on preseason practices, performance during games or any other time a players ability is noted by one of the double play coaches. - The Double Play process will be an integral part of our All Star evaluations; if a child chooses not to participate in our double play system when invited, he will still be eligible for all stars. However, double play will be used as a part of the All Star season long evaluation process, a child who chooses not to participate will miss out on a key component to selecting the final all-star team. - As well participation in the double play program does not guarantee a spot on the final all-star team. - If a parent has any questions regarding a players selection or non-selection to a double play team questions should be sent to Baseball Director Louis Passauer at louisp@coquillerecreation.com. Any questions will be addressed by the director and members of the baseball board We will be continuing our tradition of every all-star team using the same uniforms and logo, as well all teams will simply be known as Madisonville Baseball. To allow our parents to support our organization we will also have available caps, shirts, etc. This will allow our parents, friends and supporters to show their pride in our great baseball organization.
