OPENINGS FOR SHOOT CHAIR-PERSONS Short-Range and Rimfire Silhouette (3 rd Saturday of each month) Public Shoot Day (4 th Saturday of each month) These popular and well-attended events are in jeopardy unless Club Members & Participants step up to assume Shoot Chair duties. Both are now under fill-in management by Club Officers, Board Members, and a few dedicated RSOs. Please contact me, or any Officer or Board member if you would like more information about these rewarding opportunities to become an OVGC Shoot Chair. The Club will assist individuals who are not already RSOs to obtain their NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) certification. ANNOUNCEMENTS One of our members lost a gold wedding-band in late September. If found, please notify the Webmaster. Rob Coffey robert.coffey@netzero.net If you want to take a year or so off and travel or whatever remember to put your membership on hold, by paying the $10.00 fee (on time) every year that you are away. During those away years, if you come up to use the range, you must pay the guest fee at each visit. When you come back fulltime, you can restart your active membership by paying the current year s dues. Members who drop out and neglect to pay the annual $10 Membership-Hold Fee are subject to back dues for the years they missed. After more than one year away, it may cost less to re-apply and start over as a new member rather than pay multiple years worth of back dues. Magnets are available to check your ammunition at the covered firing line. If you re not POSITIVE about your ammunition, please double-check it BEFORE you shoot it. EVERYONE: Just a reminder that a trip to the range is like a hike in the wilderness: take back everything you bring, including trash and empty shells, and leave only footprints! PUBLIC SHOOT DAY REGULATIONS: Non-members may shoot only between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Club members MUST wear their membership cards or there will be a $10.00 charge. NOTE TO SHOOT CHAIRS: The bulletin deadline noted on the club calendar is not always best for getting the bulletin out in a timely manner. Please go by the deadline date printed on the first page of the bulletin in the monthly schedule section instead. Thanks!

All members, except those over 70 or with a doctor s excuse, shall be required to attend one Work Day per year. In lieu of the Work Day a $40.00 charge will be assessed on the member s next year s dues. Life members and Inactive members shall not be charged the $40 fee for not attending a Work Day. A member who works 3 or more days as a range officer or instructor at the Rose Valley facility or the Jr. Club range will be given credit as a Work Day with Board approval. OVGC ATTABOY POLICY Attaboys are issued two per Work Day. Attaboys can only be used at Ojai Valley Gun Club events or meetings. Attaboys are not redeemable for cash. Attaboys no longer have an expiration date. A Shoot Chair or Special Event Chair may request Attaboys for a member s exceptional volunteer work. Attaboys cannot be used for special event shoots. Attaboys for exceptional volunteer work at Shoots or Special Events do not fulfill or substitute for a member's annual Work Day requirement. One Attaboy equals $4.00 toward the payment of club membership, or $4.00 toward club merchandise. One Attaboy equals one round of Skeet or Trap. One Attaboy equals one round of a regularly scheduled shoot. At our yearly Officers Election Meeting in January, a drawing is held for Attaboy awards of $100, $200, and $300. A Club member must be present to win. The more Work Days you attend, the more chances you have to win.
