1. Queen Candidates must be 18 to 26 years of age, (Queens must still be 26 in January for Miss Rodeo USA Contest). Teen Queen Candidates are 13 to 17 years of age. Princess Candidates are 6 to 12 years of age. 2. Contestants must not be currently or previously married or pregnant. NOTE: Should the Pawnee Bill Memorial Rodeo Queen, Teen or Princess Candidates become married or pregnant during her reign, or does not make requested appearances she will forfeit her crown, buckle, saddle and banner to the first runner-up at the discretion of the committee. 3. Each contestant must submit application and entry fee of $100.00 along with the required photographs by June 14 th deadline. Three 5x7 photos are required. Two in color, 1 black & white with application. Photos should be a bust shot with you in western attire and hat. If using digital picture, it must be of high quality. 4. Queen contestants will be housed at the Dancing Bean Ranch, Teen and Princess contestants will commute or fine accommodation in or near Pawnee. You will want to make accommodations early. 5. Stalls will be provided for Queen Contestants. Each contestant will be responsible for their own feed, water buckets and bedding. 6. Contestants must ride the same horse during the complete contest or a veterinarian Certificate must be provided to the pageant director should the horse become lame or ill. No stallions will be permitted. 7. Contestants must ride in the parade on Saturday morning & will carry a flag.
8. Contestants will show proof of their horse s coggins test having been done within one year of the contest. 9. Contestants will be required to sell $400.00 in raffle tickets or rodeo tickets in any combination or have sponsorships. Sales are a qualification requirement and do not count as part of the judging, but the young lady that sells the most will be given a special gift at the Queen Coronation on Saturday night of the rodeo. Ticket money will be turned into Anita Johnson, on the Wednesday check in before the Horsemanship competition. (Must be in the form of a Cashier s Check or Money Order.) All monies and unsold tickets must be turned in on time before Horsemanship or you will not be allowed to compete. 10. Suitable Western Wear will be worn at all times. Attire must be suitable for the activity. Contestants must be present at all required activities. 11. Gloves and chaps are not permitted for horsemanship. Tie-downs will be at the Judge s discretion. Split reins are required. 12. No dating or seeing boyfriends during the rodeo. No cell phone usage during the pageant. 13. No alcoholic beverages. Absolutely no Profanity of any kind. Must be lady like at all times. 14. Each contestant will be asked to model a western dress outfit. The pageant director will need a description commentary for the outfit chosen. 15. Speech will be two (2) to three (3) minutes - maximum. Teen & Princess contestants will have one (1) to two (2) minutes. Subject will be provided no later than
July 1 st. 16. Good conduct and willingness to help each other is expected. Profanity or un-lady like or unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated. Queen Contestants each night following the rodeo you will return to your lodging accommodations and will not leave for any reason (unless and emergency arises and you notify the pageant director) or it has been pre arranged prior to the Rodeo Pageant with the director. Failure to comply with any of these rules will result in disqualification and you will be asked to leave the pageant immediately. 17. Judging will be as follows: POISE & COMPOSURE (INTERVIEW) 10% SPEECH & STYLE 30% HORSEMANSHIP 30%. WRITTEN TEST 25% RODEO ATTITUDE & APPEARANCE 05% 18. The decisions of the judges are final. 19. Must represent PBMR, ONLY, in the Miss Rodeo USA Pageant. If the current title holder can not compete at Miss Rodeo USA for any reason the committee will pick who to send in her place. 20. Teen and Princess queens will represent PBMR in state pageants the year of their reign. 21. Previous PBMR title holders are not eligible to compete. Note: If your sponsors would like to be included in the Rodeo Program, their information
must be in by June 14 th. Also be sure to notice the change in entry dates and fee amount changes.
