ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 Tuesday 13th March to Saturday 28th April 2007 Festival of Cricket In March and April 2007 sixteen of the world s top cricketing nations will compete in a Festival of Cricket for the coveted title of World Champion. This festival will be held in 9 different countries with 51 matches played over nearly seven weeks. For sports fans, it is hard to imagine a more exciting combination a top class sporting event played in one of the most beautiful regions of the world. The Tournament will officially open with a Grand Opening Ceremony in Trelawny, Jamaica on Sunday 11th March 2007. The sixteen teams will be divided into four groups with the two top teams from each group advancing to the Super Eight Stage. These eight teams will then play each other in a round robin format, except the two teams advancing from their respective groups who will not play each other again in the Super Eights. The top four teams in the Super Eight, based on points, will then advance to the Semi Finals played in Jamaica and St Lucia. The Semi Final winners play the Final in Barbados on Saturday 28th April. Great Caribbean Hospitality is proud to have been appointed as an Official Hospitality Sales Agent with the rights to sell the official hospitality programme. St Lucia will be hosting England, New Zealand, Kenya and Canada. With New Zealand and England currently third and seventh in the world rankings, the group stage in St Lucia promises some exciting cricket. This programme will be provided by Cricket Hospitality 2007, the company appointed by ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 Inc. to handle this project. We are offering hospitality at every match throughout the Tournament with a range of options to meet all requirements and budgets. They will be Caribbean in style with great emphasis placed on Caribbean culture, food, drink and party atmosphere. The options will meet the requirements not only of business people from the Caribbean and around the world but also cricket fans wanting to take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience top-class cricket and a great Caribbean party! Ricky Ponting s Australian team will be all out to retain the trophy which they won in South Africa in 2003. They remain at the top of the official world rankings and beat both Sri Lanka and South Africa in the triangular tournament in early 2006. But anything can happen in One Day Cricket. Who would have predicted Kenya making the Semi Finals last time? The West Indies are returning to form at the right time and New Zealand, currently ranked number three in the world, could be the dark horse in more ways than just their clothing! Whatever the outcome a great Caribbean Party is guaranteed page two
