TRANSPORTATION: Players are responsible for their own international and domestic airfare and for any airport taxes or visa expenses. Players are requested to apply early enough for their entry visas, whenever needed. The organiser will arrange and be responsible for all local transportation for all main draw participants, FIVB Delegates and referees, including transportation between the nearest international airport and the site, and when needed, between the official hotel(s) and the venue of any technical and official hospitality or social functions. BOARD & LODGING: The promoter will cover the board & lodging costs of all the teams taking part in the main draw. All players are however personally responsible for all and any extras at the hotel such as mini-bar, phone calls, laundry, etc that must be paid at checkout. PRELIMINARY INQUIRY & TECHNICAL MEETING: Players must attend the Preliminary Inquiry and present their uniforms and official forms (players' commitment, health certificate, Prize Money) during such inquiry. Players must attend the Technical Meeting. Draws will be made, if it will be needed for the teams having a tie in their seeding, during the meeting; seeding and detailed information on the competition will be distributed to players during the meeting. UNIFORMS: Uniforms will be checked during the Preliminary Inquiry. Players of the same team must wear the same colour and style of shorts. The display of players' sponsors logos on shorts and accessories is free as long as it complies with FIVB advertising regulations. Organisers will provide playing tops for the qualifying and main draw athletes. ENTRY (FIVB WEBSITE) The confirmed teams entry list as well as useful information related to the event are enclosed to this Event s Regulations and available on the FIVB website. Entry Points are the sum of individual ranking points based on the best 4 out of the last 5 FIVB World Championships, Grand Slam, Open, Challenger and Satellite and participations within the last 365 days. Teams that compete in a Challenger event that are ranked in the top 24 men s teams or the top 16 women s teams (as per the entry deadline -30 days before the start of the event) will not have their entry points (best 4 of last 5 tournaments) affected by participating in such a Challenger event. By definition, this regulation can only affect wild card teams and/or host country teams. The confirmed entry list will indicate with a symbol teams that will not have their entry points affected by this event (host and wild card teams ranked in top 24 men s teams or top 16 women s teams). However, the points from a Challenger may count if it is a benefit for the team to calculate with these points. Teams that compete in a Satellite event that are ranked in the top 48 men s teams or the top 32 women s teams (as per the entry deadline -30 days before the start of the event) will not have their entry points (best 4 of last 5 tournaments) affected by participating in such a Satellite event. By definition, this regulation can only affect wild card teams and/or host country teams. The FIVB Official Beach Volleyball Rules approved by the FIVB Board of Administration are included in the Beach Volleyball Referee Guidelines and posted on the FIVB Web site at http://www.fivb.org/beach COURT SIZE 8M X 16M FORFEIT: Each NF is responsible for informing immediately both the FIVB and organisers in case of a last minute forfeit of an enrolled team.
SEEDING Seeding Regulations: In accordance with the FIVB regulations COACHING Coaching: National Federations can designate one coach per team who must be accredited by the FIVB minimum 30 days before the event concerned or at the latest on the occasion of the Preliminary Inquiry of the event concerned; and Promoters to give accreditation that allows coaches to be seated in a designated area on the centre court. On the outside courts, coaches must stay within a designated area decided by FIVB Technical Supervisor. A mixed zone should be foresee (e.g. tent, secured area etc ) where coaches can meet their athletes MEDICAL CONTROLS The FIVB reserves the right perform random medical controls, as per FIVB rules and regulations. PLAYERS ELIGIBILITY Only players who have properly registered with the FIVB through their respective NF and have sent in due time (1 copy) the Players Agreement duly signed by all parties, will be considered eligible to take part in any 2006 FIVB International events such as Challenger, Satellite, Exhibition, and youth and Junior World Championships. http://www.fivb.org/en/beachvolleyball/forms/athletes/2007_c_s_jr_pla yer_agreement.doc.pdf INSURANCE WITHDRAWAL AND SANCTIONS It is mandatory that all athletes have their own liability and medical insurance. The FIVB will not be held responsible for any medical expenses incurred while competing in a tournament. Withdrawal and/or disbanding of teams/athletes entered in the Main Draw is not allowed once the confirmed list has been announced, except in case of force majeure or in case an athlete is injured. In such cases, a Medical Certificate or a declaration of good faith must be provided to the FIVB before the beginning of the Technical Meeting of the Main Draw. In case of withdrawal and/or disbanding of teams/athletes entered in the Main Draw once the confirmed list has been announced without any Medical Certificate or declaration of good faith presented at the latest during the Technical Meeting of the Main Draw, the FIVB will apply a USD 200 fine. This fine must be paid before the start of the following event in which a team wants to enter (if no events are staged, the fine must be paid no later than 30 days from the notification of the sanction). The proof of the wire must be sent via fax to the FIVB. Athletes in the Main Draw may be replaced by any team member for reasons of force majeure for a 30 day period (keeping its Main Draw status) only once during the season, and for one Tournament only. In the event an athlete in the Main Draw is replaced by any team member for reasons of force majeure for a second time during the season, the team concerned will then lose its Main Draw status and be automatically placed in the Qualification Tournament. Withdrawal and/or disbanding of teams/athletes entered in the Qualification Tournament is not allowed once the confirmed list has been announced, except in case of force majeure or in case an athlete is injured. In such cases, a Medical Certificate or a declaration of good faith must be provided to the FIVB before the beginning of the Technical Meeting of the Qualification Tournament. In case of withdrawal and/or disbanding of teams/ athletes entered in the Qualification Tournament once the confirmed list has been announced without any Medical Certificate or declaration of good faith presented at the latest during the Technical Meeting of the Qualification Tournament, the FIVB will then apply a USD 50 fine. This fine must be paid before the start of the following event in which a team would like to enter (if no events are staged, the fine must be paid no later than 30 days from the notification of the sanction). The proof of the wire must be sent via fax to the FIVB. Athletes who have not communicated their travel itineraries to the organizers and who arrive late for the Technical Meeting (i.e after the seeding is made) will be excluded from the event by the FIVB Technical Supervisor for "no show" or fined. Athletes failing to attend the Technical Meeting and who have not sent via fax the appropriate "force majeure" documents before the start of the event concerned will be sanctioned by the FIVB.
APPENDIXES: LETTER OF INVITATION MAILING OF CONFIRMED LIST WT/31 TRAVEL ITINERARY FORM Should it be proven that a National Federation is responsible for not communicating to the FIVB a Player s medical certificate for the withdrawal from an event, the National Federation shall be fined instead of the concerned Player. No changes between the teams enrolled in the Qualification and Main Draw Tournaments will be made after the beginning of the Technical Meeting of the Qualification Tournament. The FIVB Web site will be updated after every withdrawal and substitution of players approved by the FIVB once the confirmed list issued Notification for last minute withdrawals (i.e. on the day of a Technical Meeting) must be sent via fax to the FIVB Beach Volleyball Department (+ 41 21 345 35 48) as well as to the organizers of the event and the FIVB Technical Supervisor at the venue office.
