UP NEXT FOR THE FALCONS... The Bowling Green State University women's basketball team concludes the 06 calendar year and opens the Mid-American Conference schedule this weekend. Head coach Jennifer Roos and the Falcons host Ohio University in the league opener on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 3), with tipoff scheduled for :00 p.m. at the Stroh Center. Then, the Brown and Orange will close a season-long four-game homestand on Wednesday (Jan. 4), taking on Northern Illinois University in a 7:00 p.m. start at the Stroh. The Falcons' first road game during the MAC schedule comes on Saturday, Jan. 7, when BG faces the University of Akron. FOLLOW THE FALCONS If you can't make it to the arena on game day, fear not you can still follow the Falcons via your radio- or computer-like devices. All of BG's games will be broadcast by WBGU-FM 88., the flagship home of Falcon women's basketball, and will be available over the air or on the web. Saturday's game as is the case with all of BGSU's home games in 06-7 will have a free video stream. The game will be available via ESPN3.com. Live stats will be available, and in-game updates can be found at @BGSUwbb on your twitter machine. To follow the Falcons, simply log on to BGSUFalcons.com and click the 'calendar' link on the day of the game, or navigate your way to the women's basketball page. PASSING THEIR BOARDS BGSU, despite being at a height disadvantage in many of this year's games, has won the battle of the boards 0 times, with at least seven more rebounds than the opponent on six occasions. The Falcons have only been outrebounded by Virginia and Virginia Tech. BG has had four games with a double-digit rebounding advantage so far this year. The Falcons have a +6.4 rebounding margin good for second in the MAC heading into the Ohio game. One of the many random (some would say useless) facts in these game notes: In games against teams NOT from the state of Virginia, the Falcons have yet to be outrebounded. BG has a +8.7 rebounding margin in those 0 contests. MAC STANDINGS (as of Friday morning, Dec. 30) East Division (Overall) MAC Bowling Green (4-8) 0-0 Akron (7-4) 0-0 Buffalo (0-0) 0-0 Kent State (6-6) 0-0 Miami (6-7) 0-0 Ohio (9-) 0-0 West Division (Overall) MAC Ball State (7-5) 0-0 Central Michigan (8-4) 0-0 Eastern Michigan (5-7) 0-0 Northern Illinois (7-4) 0-0 Toledo (9-) 0-0 Western Michigan (9-) 0-0 MAC SCHEDULE/RESULTS Thursday, December 9 Buffalo 58, at Fordham 54 Friday, December 30 Buffalo vs. Harvard (Bronx, NY) Saturday, December 3 Akron at Western Michigan Miami at Buffalo Ohio at Bowling Green Ball State at Toledo Eastern Michigan at Northern Illinois Central Michigan at Kent State Wednesday, January 4 Akron at Central Michigan Buffalo at Ohio Kent State at Ball State Northern Illinois at Bowling Green Toledo at Eastern Michigan Western Michigan at Miami Virginia had a narrow 30-9 margin on the boards, while Virginia Tech wound up with a 46-37 advantage on the glass. Prior to the UVA game, the closest rebounding margin this season had come on the road against a top-five team in the nation. And, BG still held the advantage, pulling down 40 boards compared to 39 for then-#5/6 Louisville. A BG player had as many as rebounds in a game only one time during all of last season (Lauren Tibbs). But, it has happened six times already in 06-7. Senior Abby Siefker pulled down a career-high 6 caroms vs. Cincinnati, and has grabbed 3 rebounds on two occasions. Sophomore Carly Santoro had a career-high 5 boards vs. Cleveland State, and also has had a pair of -rebound contests. BGSU players combined for a total of three double-digit rebounding games during the entire 05-6 campaign (Tibbs had all three). This year, however, it has happened nine times through games. Siefker has had six double-digit rebounding contests (including three in the last four games), while Santoro has had three. 3 06-7 FALCON WOMEN'S NOTES 3 Saturday, January 7 Bowling Green at Akron Buffalo at Central Michigan Kent State at Eastern Michigan Miami at Toledo Ohio at Northern Illinois Western Michigan at Ball State Wednesday, January Bowling Green at Western Michigan Ohio at Akron Ball State at Central Michigan Northern Illinois at Kent State Eastern Michigan at Miami Toledo at Buffalo

SETTLING INTO A WEDNESDAY-SATURDAY ROUTINE Beginning with the Cleveland State game on Dec., the remainder of the Falcons' will play on Wednesdays and Saturdays each week for the remainder of the 06-7. The only two exceptions are/were Dec. 4 (the Christmas holiday, obviously), and BGSU's 'bye' week at the start of February. After playing at Kent State on Saturday, Jan. 8 the team's ninth MAC game of the season the Falcons will then be idle until beginning the second half of the MAC schedule the following Saturday, Feb. 4, when Akron comes to the Stroh Center. McCue, a graduate transfer from Mid-American Conference member Miami University, also led the Pioneers with seven rebounds on the night. Ashley Tunstall led the Falcons with points, while fellow senior Abby Siefker had a game-high 0 rebounds as BGSU held a 44-39 advantage on the boards. Four Falcons scored eight or more points off the bench in the game, as junior Rachel Myers had nine and senior Rachel Konieczki and freshmen Caterrion Thompson and Jane Uecker eight apiece. Four of Malone's starters scored in double digits, as Rachel Goddard -- like McCue a transfer from Miami -- had 5 points, while Baylen Dyrland and Chrissie Vaughan scored apiece. Dyrland (8-for-8) and McCue (7-of-7) combined to go a perfect 5-of-5 at the free-throw line, while Mackenzie Storlie (7-of-8) scored all seven of her points at the charity stripe for the Pioneers. Goddard was 6-of-8 at the line for the visitors, who were 8-of-33 on the night, including 6-of-8 in the fourth quarter. The Falcons were -of-34 from the stripe on the night, and BGSU had sizable advantages in offensive rebounds (0-), second-chance points (-) and bench 4 06-7 FALCON WOMEN'S NOTES 4

scoring (38-5) vs. the Pioneers. But, Malone hit 0 three-point field goals on the night, including four in the opening quarter. MU ended the period on a 0- run to take a seven-point lead after 0 minutes of play, and the visitors never trailed again. Malone shot 37.7 percent from the field to the Falcons' 3.%. MU was 0-of- 4 from three-point range, with Vaughan hitting four shots from behind the arc and McCue three. BG was just 5-of- from long distance, with Uecker going a perfect -for- from downtown. Overall, Uecker made three of her four shot attempts on the night. SHORTENING THE BENCH (BUT ONLY A LITTLE) The Cleveland State game (Dec. ) marked the first time this season that head coach Jennifer Roos did not play every player who had suited up for the game. A total of players saw action in the Eastern Kentucky and Cincinnati games, the first two contests of the year, as one Falcon missed the opener at EKU due to a family emergency and a teammate missed the UC game due to injury. Then, beginning with the matchup at Louisville, all Falcons on the active roster saw action in eightstraight games, before 'only' players got into the CSU game. All players saw action vs. Malone. HOME IS WHERE THE DOUBLE-DOUBLES ARE Senior Abby Siefker has had double-doubles in two of the Falcons' home games this season, and she was a total of four points away from two more. Siefker is very nearly averaging a double-double at the Stroh Center this year, with 9. points and a team-high 0.7 rebounds per game in BG's six home contests to date. Siefker, a center, is second on the club in assists, with.5 helpers per game at the Stroh. The opponents are shooting.394,.33 and.633, respectively. BG has a rebounding margin of +6.4, and the Falcons have outboarded the opponent in 0 of this year's games to date. BGSU has hit 6.9 three-pointers per game. Head coach Jennifer Roos and her staff which is comprised of assistant coaches Jacey Brooks, Nick Moore and Jessie Ivey, director of operations Monique Rosati and video coordinator Heidi Schlegel welcomed back a total of eight returning letterwinners from a year ago. That group includes a trio of seniors in Siefker, Tunstall and Rachel Konieczki. Myers and Puk comprise the junior class, while sophomores Lambert, Santoro and Maddie Cole complete the list of returning players. The eight active returnees were joined by four newcomers in Glowniak and fellow freshmen Andrea Cecil, Caterrion Thompson and Jane Uecker. The entire team including the incoming frosh got a jump-start on the 06-7 season with a trip to Cuba in mid-august, as the Falcons were able to practice prior to the trip, then play three games while on the foreign tour. THREE-MARKABLE Through the years, BGSU rosters typically have been stocked with players who can hit from long range. No fewer than different players made at least one three-point field goal last season. And, after Jane Uecker went a perfect -for- from long range vs. Malone, a total of 0 Falcons have hit at least one triple this season to date. THREE-MENDOUS The Falcons made 0 or more three-point field goals on seven occasions last season, including five times in MAC play. While BG has yet to hit double digits in that category this year, the Falcons have made at least eight long-range shots in five of this year's games. THREE-LIGHTFUL The Falcons made at least five three-point field goals in 4 of last season's 8 games, and BG hit at least four triples in all 8 contests. The Brown and Orange have continued that streak, connecting at least four times in each of this year's games. THREE-GION OF BOOM In fact, BG has knocked down four or more triple tries in 7 of the last 73 games, dating to late in the 03-4 season. The lone exception during that stretch was a 05 MAC Tournament first-round game, when BG made three treys at Western Michigan. THREE-... UMMM, SOME OTHER PHRASE THAT STARTS WITH 'THREE' BGSU will be looking to extend an uber-impressive streak in the Ohio game. The Falcons have hit at least one three-pointer in each of the last 38 games. BG has not been held without a triple in over years since Feb., 005, at Akron, when the Falcons won, 6-5, despite going 0-of-3 from long distance. FALCONS IN CUBA In August, the Falcons made an historic trip, traveling to Cuba for a cultural immersion tour. Bowling Green became only the third NCAA college team, and just the second women's basketball team, to travel to Cuba (Louisville went to Cuba three days before the Falcons' trip began). The Falcon travel party received a warm welcome from the residents of the island nation, and BGSU players and coaches played three games including two against the Cuban National Team and conducted several clinics with local children and a 6 06-7 FALCON WOMEN'S NOTES 6

Havana-based university team while on the trip. For Coach Roos and the Falcons, the off-court lessons were just as important as any practices or games, and each member of the travel party learned a great deal about the people, culture and history of Cuba. The team grew both on and off the court during an eventful nine days in mid-august, and the BGSU coaches and student-athletes were wonderful ambassadors for their nation and the game of basketball. A TRADITION OF SUCCESS Bowling Green has won 4 MAC regular-season championships and league tournament titles, the highest totals among all conference teams. Prior to the injuryplagued season of 04-5, the Falcons had won at least 0 games in a MAC-record consecutive seasons. BG won at least 4 games in nine-straight seasons during that span, losing just 8 total games in MAC regular-season play during those nine years. The Falcons made 0 consecutive national postseason trips from 005-4, with five NCAA Championships appearances and five trips to the WNIT during that time. The 006-07 team was the most successful in MAC history, winning a league-record 3 games en route to an NCAA 'Sweet Sixteen' appearance. Overall, BGSU has won 0 or more games 9 times, the highest total among all Mid-American Conference women's basketball-playing institutions. SCOUTING OHIO Ohio enters Saturday's MAC opener with an overall record of 9-. The Bobcats are a perfect 6-0 at home and 3- on the road this season to date. Ohio's only losses have come against Michigan and North Carolina A&T, with the latter being a 63-57 setback in the final non-conference game Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 8). Senior guard Quiera Lampkins leads the team in scoring, with 9.7 points per game, and she also has 7.7 rebounds per contest. Senior forward Jasmine Weatherspoon has 9.5 ppg and a team-leading 8.5 rpg, and paces the Bobcats with.7 blocked shots as well. Six other Bobcats are averaging at least 5.9 ppg. Head coach Bob Boldon welcomed back nine letterwinners, including three starters, from last year's team. The 05-6 edition of the Bobcats went 6-7 overall, won the MAC's regular-season title with a 6- league ledger, and advanced to the WNIT. THE BGSU-OHIO SERIES The Falcons lead Ohio, 55-5, in the all-time series between the teams, but the Bobcats have won each of the last four meetings after BG had taken the previous four games. Last year, the Bobcats picked up a 7-57 win at the Stroh Center (Jan. 9, 06), then pulled away late for a 75-58 win in Athens (March, 06). BG led the latter game until the final seconds of the third quarter. BGSU's last win over the 'Cats was a 63-39 victory on March, 04. BG is 3-7 in home games (3- in the Stroh Center), -6 in road contests and 3- in neutral-site games vs. the Bobcats over the years. Jennifer Roos is 4-4 against Ohio as a collegiate head coach. COLLEGE Davidson, 993 RECORD 77-63 (Fifth Season) ^ MAC RECORD 36-34 ^ ^ does not include a -0 record as interim head coach of the Falcons during 0- Jennifer Roos is in her fifth season as head coach of the Falcons, but her 6th with the Falcon program. Roos assumed the head-coaching position on April 6, 0, after years as an assistant coach on the BG staff, the last eight as associate head coach. In March of 05, then-bgsu Director of Athletics D. Christopher Kingston announced a two-year contract extension for Roos. That extension was well-deserved. In 03-4, her second season at the helm, all Roos did was guide the Falcons to 30 wins, the secondhighest victory total in program and MAC history. She was named MAC Coach of the Year, and also earned Region 4 C-O-Y honors. Since Roos arrived at BGSU, the Falcons have fashioned an overall record of 335-55 and a MAC mark of 7-75. Those numbers represent a success rate of nearly 70 percent in both conference and non-conference action. Over the last 3-plus years, however, the numbers are even more staggering. BG is 34-0 overall, 60-54 in MAC regular-season play and 83-6 in all games vs. league foes during that time. The '3-4 Falcons won the MAC's regular-season title outright, with a 7- league mark, and posted non-conference wins over regional foes Ohio State and Michigan. BGSU downed U-M a second time, one of three WNIT victories as the Brown and Orange advanced all the way to the quarterfinal round of that 64-team tournament. BGSU s overall win total in 3-4 fell just one shy of matching the school and MAC records for most victories in a season, and the Falcons total of 7 MAC wins tied that school mark. Roos was one of eight winners of a Russell Athletic/WBCA Region Coach of the Year award that season. 8 06-7 FALCON WOMEN'S NOTES 8 HEAD COACH JENNIFER ROOS 04 MAC & REGION 4 COACH OF THE YEAR CHAMPIONSHIPS AT BGSU 004-05 MAC West Division MAC Regular Season MAC Tournament 005-06 MAC East Division MAC Regular Season MAC Tournament 006-07 MAC East Division MAC Regular Season MAC Tournament 007-08 MAC East Division MAC Regular Season 008-09 MAC East Division MAC Regular Season 009-0 MAC East Division MAC Regular Season MAC Tournament 00- MAC East Division MAC Tournament 0- MAC East Division MAC Regular Season 03-4 MAC East Division MAC Regular Season POSTSEASON APPEARANCES NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS 005, 006, 007, 00, 0 NCAA 'SWEET SIXTEEN' 007 WNIT 008, 009, 0, 03, 04 WNIT QUARTERFINAL 04 HONORS & AWARDS MAC COACH OF THE YEAR 04 WBCA REGION COACH OF THE YEAR 04 In her first season at the helm, Roos led the Falcons to 4 wins and a MAC record of -5. The 0-3 team advanced to the third round of the WNIT before losing to the eventual champion. Even prior to her appointment as head coach, Roos was a major reason for the program's incredible run of success over the last decadeplus. She joined the staff in July of 00, and helped the Falcons to eight-straight MAC divisional crowns from 005-, and five MAC Tournament crowns in that time. Roos came to the Falcons after spending eight years at Davidson College. She became a coach with the Wildcats upon graduation. Roos, a native of Louisville, Ky., was a member of both the 99-9 Davidson club team and the 99-93 varsity squad. The latter season marked the varsity program's first after a six-year absence. Roos was a standout in field hockey during her undergraduate years. She was a four-year letterwinner and a three-time MVP for Davidson. Roos led the 'Cats to a 50-5-6 record in her four seasons, and helped the squad to three consecutive Deep South Association championships. Roos captained both the field hockey and basketball teams as a senior. She also lettered in lacrosse at Davidson, and graduated with a B.A. in history in 993. In January of 006, Roos was inducted into the Davidson Athletics Hall of Fame. She was inducted into her high school's (Kentucky Country Day) Hall of Fame in February of 00.
