If their visit happens to be during a weekday, chances are that Shellie Keifer (pictured left) will be there to serve them. Shellie has been a bartender at Indian Lake Moose Lodge for 12 years. She is quick to serve your favorite drink and make friendly conversation, which are invaluable traits for successful bartenders. This is truly the best job, says Shellie. I was always a factory worker before coming here. For me, it s like having a party everyday! Shellie and her husband, Bruce, live in the Lakeview area with their awesome cat, Koko. After work, she and Bruce like to relax at the lodge with some cold beverages while enjoying the million-dollar view of Indian Lake. HONORING OUR COMMUNITY HEROES PROGRAM EXTENDED From now until April 30, 2018, Moose membership fees first year dues for Active Military Personnel, First Responders, Members of the National Guard, and Border Patrol Officers will be waived. What a great way for our Moose Fraternity to say Thank You to those who serve this great country and our local communities. Page 1 of 6 Downloaded from www.ohiomoose.com Posted: 4/3/2018 1

ST. PATTY S DAY PARTY DRAWS HUGE CROWD The Ceili Irish Dance Group, the Exploit Band, along with lots of green beer and giveaways, were a winning combination for Indian Lake Moose Lodge s 1 st Annual St. Patty s Day Party held on March 17th. The dance group really wowed the crowd with their lively Celtic music and dance routines. Afterwards, the amazing Exploit Band continued entertaining the packed house. Special thanks goes to Wanda Stewart for all of her help, and for scheduling the Ceili Irish Dancers. It was an awesome day! LIVE DUCK RACES KICK OFF POLAR PLUNGE WEEKEND Adults and kids, alike, had an exciting time at the Live Ducks Races at Lodge #1533 on March 23 rd. Bets were placed on favorite ducks that ran in ten different races. It was a great start to the Polar Plunge weekend. INDIAN LAKE MOOSE HOSTS ANNUAL POLAR PLUNGE Teams of polar plungers braved the freezing water of Indian Lake on Saturday, March 24 th, to raise funds for Ohio Special Olympics. Proceeds from the polar plunge raised nearly $24,000, benefitting Ohio Special Olympics. The Big Red Deluxe Band provided awesome entertainment at the Warm-up Party afterwards. Thanks to everyone who donated and participated in this year s plunge. Dear Members, A MESSAGE FROM OUR ADMINISTRATOR At this point, many of you know that I have recently resigned as Administrator of Indian Lake Moose Lodge, after just over three years in this position. My resignation comes into effect on March 30, 2018. As Administrator of Lima Moose Lodge for 28 years, my goal from the beginning was to improve upon the success of the lodge and to leave it better than I found it. Those goals remained the same when I took over at Indian Lake Moose. Adding a monthly drawing night, hiring great bands, offering fun events and holiday celebrations throughout the year were some of the ideas implemented, with the mission of increasing our members enjoyment of their club. In addition to social media, we were better able to promote our lodge and share upcoming events through mass texting, Moose Vision, a scrolling sign and a much-needed newsletter. Most agree that the lodge looks (and smells) much better after making a variety of improvements that were way overdue. Forfeiting nearly $44,000 after the illegal machine raid did set us back somewhat on a few of the desired upgrades, but we have been steadily replacing those funds with profits made from the Keno machines. Overall, we are in much better shape financially, despite being in the slow season. This is due, in large part, to membership growth, and increased sales from our fine members coming out to enjoy great bands special winter events. My time here was relatively short, but I am proud to have completed a great deal of what I set out to accomplish. Every business is a work in progress, however, and there is still much more to be done. The continued success of this lodge depends greatly upon working together, solving major differences of opinion that create turmoil and division, and letting go of self-serving agendas, which are not in the best interest of Indian Lake Moose #1533. I would like to thank my staff for their dedication and hard work in serving our members, and striving to be the best employees that they can be. Thanks, also to the Board of Officers that I had the pleasure of serving with. I am very appreciative and proud of each staff and board member for representing our lodge well. Finally, I want to thank Darlene for the long hours of her personal time spent putting many of my ideas into action - I could not have done it without her. She shared my commitment to make the lodge a fun place for our members, and she loved every minute of it! We have met some great people and made life-long friends. Our time here has been wonderful, but we are very excited to start a new chapter. It has been my privilege to serve as your Administrator. I wish the best of luck to the members, to the new Board of Officers, and in finding an Administrator whose goal is to leave Indian Lake Moose Lodge better than he found it.
