SCOUTS AUSTRALIA - QUEENSLAND BRANCH JOTA-JOTI With almost 60 youth members attending across the weekend, Brownsea Water Activities Centre was buzzing! A special thank you to SEQUEST (South Eash Queensland UHF Emergency Service Team), VMR Shorncliffe (Volunteer Marine Rescue), Ian Robertson (amateur radio operator), and the Queensland Branch International Team (Ross Tutin and Susan Rogers) for all of your support in making this a very successful and enjoyable event for Scouting youth members. Over the course of the weekend we managed to chat on the radios to Scouts in the USA, New Zealand, and most states of Australia, along with internet chatting with Scouts from Gibraltar, Indonesia, France, England, the Czech Republic, Finland, Portugal, Canada, Norway, Japan, Scotland, Germany, Malaysia, Ukraine, Austria, South Africa, Malta, Cypress, Poland, Netherlands, Pakistan, Venezuela, the USA, New Zealand, Denmark, and multiple states of Australia. Activities included sailing, canoeing, raft building, solar powered cooking, craft, radio communication, and internet chatting. We are already starting to plan for 2017 where we hope to be bigger and better, and even have a world first we are working on achieving.
