Technology Overview Vacuum and Pressure Liquid A Thomas Industries Company

Vacuum Pumps, Compressors and Lipuid Pumps 0.1 to 365 lpm Rietschle Thomas is the world leader in the production of vacuum pumps and compressors for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Our technical orientation and engineering excellence allows for a quick response to customers needs. Our company delivers products to over 65 countries from its seven manufacturing facilities in the US, Europe and Asia. Vacuum Pressure Liquid Rietschle Thomas smaller pumps are designed to generate both pressure and vacuum. The pressure spectrum ranges from less than 1 mbar (abs) on the vacuum side up to 30 bar (g) on the pressure side. Five operating principles are utilised in covering a multitude of OEM applications. Based on four different operating principles, Rietschle Thomas pumps achieve a flow rate of up to 5 lpm and a pressure of up to 10 bar (g) for liquid applications. These pumps are self-priming and can also be used for dosing purposes. Operating Principles WOB-L Piston Dry running Wob-L piston pump. Best performance characteristics for high pressures. Mainly used as a compressor. Volume flow: 180 lpm (max) Max. pressure: 30 bar (g) Articulating Piston Dry running piston pump. Wellsuited for applications requiring high pressures. Mainly used as a compressor. Volume flow: 365 lpm (max) Max. pressure: 10 bar (g) Liquid Applied operating principles: diaphragm (motor or linear drive), peristaltic (direct or gear drive), rotary vane or Gerotor. 5 lpm (max) Suction height: 8 m H 2 O (max) Pressure height: 100 m H 2 O (max) Dry running and self-lubricating rotary vane pump. Low vibration, nearly pulsation free, compact and in some cases reversible. Mainly used as a vacuum pump. Volume flow: 283 lpm (max) Max. pressure: 1.6 bar (g) Typical end vacuum: 150 mbar (abs) Diaphragm Dry running diaphragm pump. Characterised by a high efficiency, low noise level and good tightness. Adapts well to different gases. Used equally as a compressor and vacuum pump. Volume flow: 90 lpm (max) Max. pressure: 2.8 bar (g) End vacuum: < 1 mbar Linear Dry running diaphragm pump. Two different means of actuation: linear and vibrating armature. Very high life time, low noise level and high efficiency. Used as a vacuum and pressure pump. Vacuum Pumps and Compressors 3 to 8500 m 3 /hr Rietschle Thomas has been a world leader in pressure and vacuum technology for more than 50 years. Rietschle Thomas Schopfheim produces high quality products at two manufacturing plants and have one of the most modern aluminium foundries in Europe. Dry running and oil lubricated vacuum pumps, compressors and pressure-vacuum pumps which can be designed into complete systems to form tailor-made solutions. Vacuum Pressure Pressure-Vacuum Vacuum can be defined as the pressure of a gas which is lower than atmospheric pressure. Suction always produces an underpressure (vacuum). For applications requiring a pressure of up to 2.2 bar. Rietschle offers five operating principles for pressure applications. Many applications require compressed air and vacuum simultaneously, for example in the Printing and Paper Handling Industries. Operating Principles Dynamic compression by centrifugal effect. Single stage and multi stage models produce vacuum up to -115 mbar or pressure up to +125 mbar. Capacities range from 130 to 3,400 m 3 /hr. blowers are air cooled and non-contact operation means there is no wear, making the design virtually maintenance-free. Dynamic compression by transforming flow energy into pressure energy. Vacuum up to -800 mbar in suction operation and overpressure up to +1 bar in pressure mode can be obtained. The capacities range from 16 to 1,850 m 3 /hr. Free of wear and maintenance by non-contact operation. The pumped medium is not contaminated. Static compression by volume reduction. Oil lubricated or dry running vacuum up to 0.1 mbar (abs) with capacities ranging from 3 to 1,535 m 3 /hr and pressures up to 2.0 bar with capacities ranging from 3 to 420 m 3 /hr can be reached. When used as a combined unit, -0.6 bar vacuum and +0.7 bar pressure can be achieved simultaneously. Static compression (no 'internal' volume reduction). Three-lobed SHARK: vacuum to 0.5 bar (abs.) and overpressure up to 1 bar at capacities of 20 to 8,580 m 3 /hr. Single stage VACTIGER are designed for use in pump sets in combination with a booster pump. Vacuum to 0.01 mbar (abs) and capacities of 500 to 2,500 m 3 /hr. Static compression by 'internal' volume reduction. The ZEPHYR can achieve vacuum up to 100 mbar (abs) and capacities between 60 and 600 m 3 /hr as well as pressure up to 2.2 bar (g) at flow rates between 100 and 600 m 3 /hr. In combined operation simultaneous vacuum up to -0.6 bar and pressure up to +1.0 bar can be obtained. Screw Static compression by 'internal' volume reduction. The TWISTER is suitable for numerous applications, in many different industries. Depending on size, vacuum up to 0.05 mbar (abs) and capacities between 80 and 720 m 3 /hr can be achieved.
