Swallowing small quantities may cause nausea or diarrhea. Skin Contact: Product may be a primary skin irritant. Eye Contact: Product may be a primary eye irritant. Page 1/6

4. First Aid Measures Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Get medical attention for any breathing difficulty. Purgon HPC Ingestion: If concentrate or mix is swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give large amounts of water. Get medical attention. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Skin Contact: In case of contact, immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, lifting lower and upper eyelids occasionally. Get medical attention immediately. 5. Fire Fighting Measures Fire: Product will not ignite except after evaporation of the water content. Explosion: Not considered to be an explosion hazard, except after evaporation of the water content. Fire Extinguishing Media: Extinguish surrounding fire with suitable means. Special Information: In the event of a fire, wear full protective clothing and NIOSH-approved selfcontained breathing apparatus with full face piece operated in the pressure demand or other positive pressure mode. Water spray may be used to keep fire exposed containers cool. 6. Accidental Release Measures Ventilate area of leak or spill. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as specified in Section 8. Isolate hazard area. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Contain and recover liquid when possible. Use nonsparking tools and equipment. Collect liquid in an appropriate container or absorb with an inert material (e. g., vermiculite, dry sand, earth), and place in a chemical waste container. Do not use combustible materials, such as saw dust. Do not flush to sewer! Page 2/6

7. Handling and Storage Storage place should provide protection against frost and heat. Best if stored between 40 and 100 F in a dry and ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed. Protect against physical damage. Avoid all contact of concentrate with eyes and skin. 8. Exposure Controls/Personal Protection Airborne Exposure Limits: Contents 2-Amino-ethanol 6 mg/m³ (TLV, OSHA) 20-30% Ventilation System: A system of local and/or general exhaust is recommended to keep employee exposures as low as possible. Local exhaust ventilation is generally preferred because it can control the emissions of the contaminant at its source, preventing dispersion of it into the general work area. Please refer to the ACGIH document, Industrial Ventilation, A Manual of Recommended Practices, most recent edition, for details. Skin Protection: Wear protective gloves (nitrile) and clean body-covering clothing when handling the concentrate. Eye Protection: Safety goggles are required when handling the concentrate. Maintain eye wash fountain in work area. Work/Hygiene Practices: Good personal hygiene should always be practiced. 9.
