Dear Customer, Thank you for choosing one of the Dr. Kern massagers. So that you will fi nd it easier to use, we have enclosed some special instructions. They are intended to help you to get used to working with your new massager more quickly. Please read these instructions carefully before you start. This device has not been designed for being used by persons (including children) that are physically or mentally handicapped or have sensory disabilities. Moreover, it is not allowed to use this device without suffi cient experience and/or knowledge, unless these persons will be supervised by persons responsible for their security or in case they have been instructed how to use this device. Children are to be supervised in order to make sure that they do not play with this device. Important instructions First check that nothing is missing from your order. Check that the mains lead and the voltage on the type plate are identical. Read these assembly instructions and operating instructions very carefully. Use the massager only in a dry room. Disconnect the massager from the mains before starting to clean it or service it. Do not permit anyone except a person that is properly trained to carry out repairs: repairs carried out by anyone not qualifi ed to do so could cause injury to the user. The massage belts and belt fi xtures should be inspected regularly for possible damages and wear. Only fully intact, undamaged belts may be used. If you are unwell, pregnant or injured you should always consult a doctor before starting to use the massager. Never massage your bare skin. No massage in the kidney area, as this may lead to kidney damages! Do not switch on the massager under a heavy load. Important warning! Children do not recognise the possible risks of using electrical equipment. So never permit a child to use the massager without the proper supervision. The massager complies with the currently valid safety requirements. 3

Assembling the massager 1. First unpack the fl oor plate (J) with the stand holder rod (F). Assemble the stand holder so that it is in an upright position (Fig. 1) and then fi x it with the screws that are included. 2. Remove both of the retaining screws (G) from the base (H) and pull out the stand holder rod (F). 3. Use the retaining screws (E) to adjust to the height you want. 4. Push the stand holder into the base until all the screws are aligned. Then put a snap ring, then a washer on each of the screws (G), then put the 3 screws in the three holes for them before tightening them (the third screw is in the packaging is packed). 5. Insert the massager head with the end of the rod into the stand. Tighten the retaining screws (E) to fi x the massager at the height you want. 6. Hang the massaging belt (C) in the grooves in the belt holders (B). 7. Plug in the massager to the mains: your massage equipment is now ready to use. B D F G H G J A C E G IMPORTANT! The massager arrives in two separate packages. Package 1: massager head, massager belt, massager accessories. Package 2: base plate with stand rod depending. 4

Device function Two-step switch The device is equipped with a two-step switch and touch keys. In the fi rst step the reduced motor speed provides for a calmer massage while in the second step the intensity clearly increases. You may switch between the two steps without turning the device off. Cleaning the device Always pull the plug before cleaning the device. You may then clean the device with a slightly moistened rag. Do not use corrosive cleansers, such as thinners or other solvents. Safety warning Applications Never massage your bare skin with the special belt. This could damage your skin. Tightly fi tting clothing such as leggings, tights or leotards would be most suitable. Here we would like to suggest a number of ways in which you could use the massager. Regular use will be of benefi t your health. But it is important for you to remember the massage times given in the previous sections. Belt massager for a whole body massage A massage will help you to keep fi t when your muscles have become tight or have hardened. In addition a belt massage will promote blood circulation, is benefi cial to the cardio-vascular system and will benefi t your metabolism as well as being good for your connective tissue. As a result of the sliding belt massage you will soon feel the gymnastic effect. You can apply the special belt from the soles of your feet through your legs and hips to your shoulders by turning to and fro. In fact you will be using the belt massager like a piece of gymnastics equipment. You can enhance this feeling of general wellbeing by enjoying a whole-body massage lasting about 5-10 minutes. Belt massage will keep you fi t, but when you are unwell you should always ask your doctor fi rst. Do not have a massage when you have a temperature, varicose veins, thromboses, infl a- med veins, gout, malicious growths or acute infl ammation or if you are pregnant. In addition you can use the belt with rollers to improve the effectiveness of a massage or the belt with brushes to activate and stimulate your skin. The belts can be cleaned with a weak soap solution. Hip massage You can use the special massage belt to massage your waist, hips and buttocks in a particularly pleasantly way. Foot and leg massage Start a whole-body massage by placing your right foot loosely inside the massage belt. Then repeat with the left foot. Then continue by massaging your legs. The massaging of your thighs will have a benefi cial effect on your circulation and will relax your muscles. Place the belt round a thigh and lean back as far as you can. Allow the belt to slide gently up and down so as to get the effect you want. 6

Calf massage Back and shoulder massage A back and shoulder massage will have a benefi cial effect on You can massage your calves either standing up or sitting down. Place your right or left calf in the belt and complete relax the leg. This massage is similar to the leg massage in that it will improve your circulation and in addition it will guard against an attack of cramp in the calf muscles. Important warning! If you have problems with your legs we suggest that you always seek your doctor s advice fi rst. tension and hardening muscles (after driving a car for a long time, working at your desk). A belt massage can prevent the occurrence of long-lasting problems with your posture. Place the belt over your shoulders and hold the loose end fi rmly with one hand. Stomach muscle massage This type of massage can be used to tighten slack stomach muscles and make them fi rm. The vibration massage will be of particular benefi t if you are suffering from sluggishness of the bowels. Place the belt in front of your stomach muscles, bend slightly forward and relax the muscles in the upper part of your body. 7

In case of complaint please return the equipment in its original packaging or other suitable packaging (caution: danger of transport damage) to our service department. Always include the completed warrenty certificate when returning equipment. Possible shipping costs arising from the transport to and from point of repair cannot be borne by us. Outside of Germany please contact your specialist dealer in case of warranty claims. Direct warranty processing with our service department is in this case not possible. Handling procedures for return shipments (RMA) - Details for all returns! Dear customer we hope that you will rejoice in the ordered articles. Just in case that you are not entirely contented as an exeption, please follow the procedures specified below.this enabling us to ensure a quick and smooth handling of the return shipment. Please absolutely respect for all returns! Please add the available RMA-voucher always completely filled out together with an invoice copy to the return shipment! Do not stick it on the goods or on the packaging. We do not accept the return shipment without these papers. Not prepaid parcels will be refused and returned to Sender! Please always ask for the RMA-No. for the cheapest return. Please pay attention that the goods have to be sent back without visible marks of use in the original scope of delivery and in original packing. We recommend to use an additional solid and break-proof covering box which should be padded out with styrofoam, paper or similar. Transport damages as a result of faulty packing are for the sender s account. Form of complaint: 1) Transport damage Please check the content of your parcel immediately and advise the forwarding company of a claim (parcel service/ freight forwarder) Do not use damaged goods! Ask the forwarder for a written acknowledgement of the damages. Report the claim promptly by phone to your dealer. He will discuss with you how to act in this case. If the transport box has been damaged, please use an additional covering box. Do not forget to add the acknowledgement of the damage of the forwarding company! 2) Faulty goods The implied warrenty period is 2 years.please contact your dealer in case of faulty or wrong articles or missing accessories. He will discuss with you the individual case and try for immediate and customer-friendly solution. For economic returns within Germany you will get an RMA-number from the manufacturer. All returns have to be in the original packing of the goods with corresponding accessories. Please repack the goods to avoid damages. In case of wrong delivery, please do not use this article! 3) Problems of installation and functioning Please read the manual carefully first of all and pay attention to the indicated assembly or installing instructions. Your dealer should be the first contact person because he knows his products best and also knows possible problems. In case of function problems with an article, please check at fi rst whether there is an obvious material defect. The quality system in our factory reduces malfunctions of new appliances to almost zero. 9
