Butterflies are beautiful creatures that come in many different colours and sizes. The smallest butterfly in the world is only the size of a nickel and the world s largest butterfly has a wing span of 12 inches. Where do butterfly come from? Their life cycle is very interesting. The life cycle of a butterfly starts out as an egg. A Caterpillar then comes out of the egg. After a caterpillar grows to a certain size. It makes a hard shell called Chrysalis. Inside the Chrysalis the caterpillar turns into a butterfly. The new butterfly then breaks the chrysalis and come out. The butterfly life is very short.
