Maeda last pitched on Tuesday vs. the Marlins and was sharp, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out seven in 6. innings. The Dodgers also rank second in the NL in fewest walks allowed, having issued 78 free passes, five more than the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have walked 73. The Dodgers have averaged 1.13 strikeouts per nine innings, which leads the NL and ranks third in the Majors, trailing just the Astros (1.3) and Yankees (1.28). The Dodgers 274 strikeouts as a pitching staff leads the National League and ranks second in the Majors, trailing only the Astro (288). Dodger starters have walked just 38 batters, which is tied with the Oakland A s for the fewest in the Majors. ROAD TESTED: Dodger shortstop Corey Seager, who celebrated his 24 th birthday on Friday went 3-for-6 with two RBI in the first game and 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in the nightcap.
