IDENTITY GUIDE INTRODUCTION COLORS AND TYPE page 2 Introduction The colors and logos in this guide have been carefully developed to establish and solidify the unique brand identity of US Youth Soccer and the identity of itʼs ʻsub-brandsʼ, programs and events. Through your help with the consistent application and usage of these colors and logos US Youth Soccer will continue to build a strong, unique and consistent brand. Our Colors Consistency in color usage is critical for the brand. US Youth Soccer wishes to establish a vibrant ʻall-americanʼ image that captures the excitement of youth soccer with red, white and blue. Shown are US Youth Soccer colors as solid Pantone with conversions for four-color process Pantone 199 C 0% M 100% Y 65% K 0% Pantone 286 C 100% M 60% Y 0% K 6% Black K 100% Supporting Typefaces The fonts Helvetica, Verdana and Arial are universal and available in nearly every computer. They also are standard with banner fabricators. Many variations are available such as condensed, light and bold. Whenever possible, US Youth Soccer asks that these typefaces be used. Please use the typefaces Helvetica, Verdana and Arial as shown in the text throughout this manual. Usage of US Youth Soccer within copy Anytime that US Youth Soccer appears in copy it is recommended that it be italic in the same weight, style and size as the surrounding text. This makes it stand out and gives the name energy.
IDENTITY GUIDE PRIMARY MARK page 3 US Youth Soccer Primary Mark This logo is the essence and the identity of US Youth Soccer. This logo is to be used whenever and wherever possible in the red, white, blue and black colors. Primary Mark in color against light background or dark background Color Primary Mark on dark background. Use PMS 199, PMS 286, and black or the corresponding process screen mix and white when reproducing the logo. The logo is a federally registered trademark and the must always appear at the bottom right of the logo. The logos proportions and integrity may not be altered or distorted in any way. The logo art has a white outline that allows it to stand out when used with a darker background. Logo in one color When only one color is available the logo should be reproduced in black, PMS 199 red or PMS 286 blue. Logo can also be reversed out to white from a dark background. One color reproduction of Primary Mark in black, PMS 199 or PMS 286 Minimum size Use the logo as large as possible for impact but allow space around it so it is not crowded. Member associations are asked to adhere to the standards of the US Youth Soccer logo and identify their association with the addition of copy in the proportions shown above. Type should be Helvetica, Verdana or Arial.
IDENTITY GUIDE SECONDARY MARK page 4 US Youth Soccer Secondary Horizontal Mark This logo is to be used in horizontal applications when the primary US Youth Soccer logo is not practical. Our friend Stickley is optional on the horizontal logo. When not part of the logo he can be a very effective secondary graphic element as shown below in the horizontal banner example. IDENTITY GUIDE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES LOGO page 5 US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Mark This logo is required on all event merchandise and graphics and can be used as part of event artwork or as a stand-alone logo. For additional information, please refer to the Policy on US Youth Soccer National Championships. US Youth Soccer National Championship Series Logo Usage This logo (left) is available for use by State Associations and Regional Championship Committees. The logo is to be recognized as the official event logo for State Cups and Regional Championships. It must be presented in itʼs entirety on any and all event merchandise and materials, including, but not limited to: 4 Soccer apparel, bags, hats, pins, patches, medals and any other premiums 4 Press releases, registration forms, posters, banners and field boards 4 Print or broadcast advertising 4 Electronic medium or on-site signage 4 Marketing or informational materials Color National Championship Series Logo on dark background. NORTH TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS National Championship Series Logo Event Designation 4 The event designation can be presented with the logo 4 The event designation must be stated as follows: State Association/Region Name, State Championship 4 The event designation line must be presented directly beneath the logo, must be in Helvetica, Verdana or Arial font and all capital letters and must be presented in black or white only. No other wording can be included. 4 Inclusion of the date and/or city/state are optional. If included, this information must be in one line beneath the event designation in the same font and colors. US YOUTH SOCCER NORTH TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS NORTH TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FRISCO, TEXAS Application of Logo in event artwork. The National Championship Series Logo is very versatile. It can be used with event artwork as long as it is prominent and very identifiable as shown here on event T-shirts. U S Y O U T H S O C C E R NORTH TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP NORTH TEXAS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS National Championship Series Presenting Sponsors If a presenting sponsorship is sold for the State Championships, use of the sponsorʼs logo is granted for event materials and apparel. 4 Logo must be submitted to the National Office prior to use. Placement of both logos must be indicated. 4 Size of sponsors logo cannot be larger than the National Championship Series Logo and can only appear once on any item or apparel. 4 The sponsorʼs logo cannot appear in close proximity to the National Championship Series Logo and the logo must be identified with the designation Presenting Sponsor.
IDENTITY GUIDE PROGRAM LOGOS AND OTHER MARKS page 7 US Youth Soccer Program Logos and Additional Marks US Youth Soccer operates various programs and special events that invoke a special identity yet maintain a ʻfamily lookʼ with our other logos. These logos use the same colors as the primary logo. US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Logo The shield logo (left) shall be used for the US Youth Soccer/State Association Olympic Development Program at the state and regional levels. In compliance with the U.S. Soccer Federationʼs mandate, each US Youth Soccer ODP team is required to place the logo below on each playerʼs uniform. The shield logo (shown below) with state association and region name is required on all US Youth Soccer ODP uniforms and gear.
IDENTITY GUIDE PROGRAM LOGOS AND OTHER MARKS page 8 Kohl s US Youth Soccer American Cup Logo The goal of the Kohlʼs American Cup Program is to develop a consistent event message and brand within the soccer community. In order to assist each host organization in furthering that mission, the following event title guidelines should be followed at all times when referring to the program. Kohl s US Youth Soccer American Cup Logo Usage The official name of the event is Kohlʼs US Youth Soccer American Cup. The common name for all events is Kohlʼs American Cup. The common name should be used as a title in materials and as a first reference to the event. If a host organization wants to include their name in the official title the following structure needs to be used: (name of appropriate state) Kohlʼs US Youth Soccer American Cup. The Kohlʼs American Cup is represented by an official program logo (as shown to the left) The logo should be used in all event materials. This is the logo for the event and no other logo should be designed or materials distributed that represent the Kohlʼs American Cup. In all possible situations, the color version of the Kohlʼs American Cup should be used. However, you may use the gray scale version of the logo when only one color is available. IDENTITY GUIDE STICKLEY page 9 US Youth Soccer Favorite Friend Stickley US Youth Soccerʼs character Stickley, is an element that invokes the fun of youth soccer. Stickley is an element of the Primary Logo but can also be used in a variety of ways as an independent element to add visual interest to your event materials. Go ahead, have fun! About Stickley Stickley is available in four positions as shown on the left. Stickley can be cropped but not distorted or altered in any way. Stickley is rather sensitive so no additional features may be added and he must always be reproduced with his soccer ball. Stickley is a federally registered trademark of US Youth Soccer and must have the on the lower right of the logo. Stickley 1 Stickley 2 DALLAS TEXAS AUGUST 13-17 Stickley 3 Stickley 4 Stickley is a versatile player and can play a number of positions. He can be cropped, as shown on the vertical banner, with type overlay for a very graphic effect. He can also be reversed out and used in other colors.
