RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Riders may enter one equitation, one trail and one dressage class in Division A, B or C. There is no cross-entering between Divisions A, B, or C. Entry fees are $15.00 per class, payable to Thorncroft. Important note- all entries and fees must be postmarked by September 13th. 2. Classes are open to riders of all ages. If entries warrant, classes will be divided by age (to the best of our ability). Please give age when entering. 3. The horse show committee reserves the right to combine, cancel, or divide classes as entries warrant. 4. Riders must wear ASTM/SEI approved helmets. Safety stirrups are required for all saddles. 5. Entries close on September 13th. A copy of a negative Coggins test, taken within the last twelve months, must accompany the entry form. 6. No class will be delayed if riders are not ready. Contact the show secretary immediately if there is a time conflict in your schedule. Times will be e-mailed to programs approximately one week before the show. 7. The horse show committee reserves the right to stop any activity they feel jeopardizes the rider's safety and/or the well-being of any horse. 8. Leaders and side-aides are reminded that their position is one of safety-unnecessary assistance will be penalized by the judges. RIDERS will be penalized if there is too much coaching from instructors, aides or spectators! 9. Thorncroft horses may not be lent to outside riders. 10. Adaptive equipment is permitted, as long as a rider is not attached or tied to the saddle or horse in any manner. No side or draw reins. 1
CLASS LIST DIVISION A (for the Physically Challenged) DIVISION B (for the Mentally Challenged) CLASS # CLASS DESCRIPTION CLASS # 1 Equitation-Walk Only. Must be accompanied by a leader and may have up to two side aides. May be asked to halt and circle (10 meter diameter), change direction by half-circle, and serpentine through cones. 2 Equitation-Walk/Trot. Must be accompanied by at least one aide. Will be asked to perform at the walk as in Class 1 and at the trot for a short distance. 3 Independent Equitation-Walk/Trot. No aides. Riders will be judged on hands, seat, and control of mount. May be asked to trot a figure 8 or perform other independent tests for the judge. Diagonals not to count. 4 Independent Equitation-Walk/Trot/Canter. No aides. Riders will be judged on hands, seat, and control of mount. May be asked to trot a figure 8 or perform other independent tests for the judge. Diagonals not to count. 12 13 14 15 5 Trail Class-Walk Only. Must have a leader. May have 1 or more aides. 16 6 Trail Class-Walk. With an aide, no leader. 17 7 Trail Class-Walk/Trot. Riders may be asked to circle, change direction by a half-circle or perform a figure 8. 24 Advanced Equitation-Walk/Trot-Independent. Riders will be judged on hands, seat, and control of mount. They will be asked to perform sitting trot and posting trot unless physically unable to. Riders may be asked to circle, change direction by a half-circle, or perform a figure 8 at the trot. 25 Advanced Equitation-Walk/Trot/Canter (as above). 26 Advanced Trail-Walk Only. 27 Advanced Trail Class-Walk/Trot. 28 Dressage Test-Walk #3 29 Dressage Test-Walk/Trot #3 (2015 USDF Intro B) 30 Dressage Test-2015 USEF Training Level Test 1 Dressage Tests are on our website www.thorncroft.org, under Fall Horse Show. DIVISION D CLASS # CLASS DESCRIPTION 31 Costume Class-Open to all competitors. 32 Lead Line-Open to those not entered in any classes other than costume. Closing for all entries is September 13th. Please note-all entries and fees must be postmarked by September 9. No refunds after closing. (Partial refund may be possible if request is accompanied by a Veterinarian s explanation.) 3
