IRAN IS NO.1 AND THE POWER HOUSE OF BODYBUILDING IN ASIA AND THE WORLD...THEY WON SEVERAL GOLD MEDALS, THE OVERALL TITLE OF MR. ASIA AND THE TEAM CHAMPION TROPHY Super is the word to be described on the 44th Asian Men's Bodybuilding and Fitness Physique Championships held from 2-7 August 2010 in the city of Tehran, Islamic Republic of Iran. The competition was smoothly organised with a participation of 22 countries with 98 athletes and 2 countries with representation of delegates. Iranian officials worked very hard to make this event a great success to the satisfaction to all athletes and officials from the 24 nations. ABBF held its Executive Committee meeting on 3rd and the Congress on 4th August at the Englahab.Hotel. Important decisions were made at both these meetings to forge the sport to greater heights. At the p re-judging there were over 3000 supporters and at the finals on 6th August over 11,000 frenzy bodybuilding fans waving flags and beating drums supporting their bodybuilders deriving from the various states and parts throughout the country. There was a great carnival atmosphere at the Azadi Sports Complex Stadium. Star studded team of elite bodybuilders represented the Islamic Republic of Iran and they won 9 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze as well as the Team Champions trophy including the Overall title of Mr. Asia 2010. China, Iraq, Malaysia and Thailand were the only teams that stopped a clean sweep of the gold medal by the Iranians. The People's Republic of China sent two bodybuilders and they were very impressive athletes. In the fly weight category, China's.Li Bo stood tall and flexed his muscles and won the Gold Medal proving to be the most outstanding athlete. His posing ability captured the attention of the audience and they adored him. To add glamour to the occasion several high officials of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran graced the occasion to give away the medals to the winners. The Guest-of-Honour was His Excellency Dr. Ali Saeed Lu, Deputy President and Head of the Physical Education Organization.
