Irondequoit Junior Eagles Youth Football & Cheerleading Attendance Policy & Code of Conduct The success of our program is dependent on the commitment of our participants. For that reason, your child is expected to attend all practices and games. Please consider your child s schedule and other activities before committing to our program. If you don t think you can adhere to our attendance requests as stated below, please reconsider having your child participate in our program. Your child is expected to show up on time and stay until the coach has excused them. We will try not to hold them past our practice time; however, on occasion, this may happen. Your coach should be made aware of any conflicts as soon as possible and will handle each participant s requests accordingly. If your child is going to miss ANY practices, please let his/her head coach know as soon as possible. Attendance is kept to insure we have an accurate record for insurance purposes. Any child who has missed any amount of practices/games due to injury cannot return to activities without a medical professional s written approval, on their letterhead. Absences from practices and games have to be taken seriously, due to the safety issues that are involved with the program. Excessive absences will be addressed individually by your child s Coach and could result in the Board of Directors taking punitive action. The Irondequoit Junior Eagles Football tackle program mandates each participant must have 10 hours of conditioning practice hours completed before they can wear equipment and participate in contact drills. Only helmets and shoulder pads may be worn for the ten (10) hours of conditioning. No other equipment may be worn. After the 10 hours of conditioning is completed, players will need 10 additional hours of contact practice in before they are allowed to play in a game or scrimmage. Participants are expected to attend all practices and games, regardless if active in them or not. The Irondequoit Junior Eagles Cheerleading program is a competitive cheerleading program and we expect every participant to attend every practice and game. In cheerleading especially, there are no substitutes to fill in. If your child misses a practice, game or competition, it affects the entire team. Your child is here to learn the fundamentals of cheerleading and to have fun. If a cheerleader is missing, it is very hard to teach fundamentals. Other children can suffer from the absence of your child, which no longer makes it fun for them. Cheerleaders cannot perform their routines safely and consistently if they have not attended all of the scheduled practices. Cheerleaders who continually miss practices and/or games will still be expected to attend the games and they will cheer only the Welcome cheer. They will not cheer sidelines or the halftime cheer, but will be expected to sit with their coach and support the team. No running around will be allowed, and no sitting with friends and/or parents. It is an AYFCL policy, once school starts that if a child (football or cheerleading) has two (2) missed practices in a week (excused or unexcused), they may not be allowed to participate in that weekend s game. They are still required to be at the game, in full uniform, to support their team. There are no refunds for players who are removed from the Irondequoit Junior Eagles rosters due to attendance issue.

Tardiness Every effort should be made for parents to have their players arrive on time to scheduled events, including games and practices. On time means dressed and ready for participation when the session begins. Coaches and parents should work together to avoid tardiness. If after a coach/parent communication tardiness remains an issue, discipline of the offending player is at the coach s discretion. Head Coach must notify the parents of the affected player of any disciplinary action to take place. Head Coach may discipline player by not playing the player for the first half of the next game. There is one exception for tardiness and that is only for conflicts with IHS Modified Sports. This exception would only be applicable to the A squads and those participants should make every effort to arrive as soon as possible, along with advising the Head Coach beforehand. Child Participant Behavior Use of foul language or misconduct in the parking lot before or after practices and games will not be tolerated. Misconduct at practice or during a game will not be tolerated. It is the responsibility of the player/cheerleader to: Demonstrate self-control and respect for their coaches, officials, and spectators at all times. Remember that participation in sports should not be abused by unsportsmanlike-like conduct. Respect the other team and shake hands after the competition and congratulate them on their performance. Respect the integrity and judgment of the officials and abide by the rules. Remember that behavior while in uniform reflects on the team, the family, and the community. Accept winning and losing with grace and dignity. Fundraising & Family Participation Contract I will commit to participate in the Irondequoit Junior Eagles fundraising activity or choose the buyout option. Failure to participate will result in my child s expulsion from the league. The Irondequoit Junior Eagles is a non-profit organization run solely by unpaid volunteers. This allows parents or guardians to participate in a fun and exciting season. In order to ensure the season, competitions and all games run smoothly, we require parent assistance for many critical in season roles. In order to ensure this is completed, all families are required to pay a $50 deposit, per family. Each family will required to fulfill 2-4 participating activities per season depending on overall participation for the season. Upon completion of your required participation activities, the $50 deposit will be returned. Any missed participating responsibilities will result in full forfeiture of the participation deposit. We will work to return all deposits close to the time in which your full participation requirement is fulfilled however to due to the logistics involved in this process, deposits may not be returned until the end of the season. This deposit is due no later than the Annual Parent Meeting. Please note: If you participate during your child s game, it is very possible that you will not be able to watch your child cheer or play. Parents may choose to participate during other teams games. Please do not bring children with you when you participate. All participants must be over the age of 18. No children under the age of 18 will be allowed to fulfill any parent participant obligations. It is your responsibility to check the web site, on a regular basis, as there may be revisions after the initial schedule is released, and know when you are scheduled. If you do not fulfill your assigned job, your full deposit will be forfeited. (Note: Full deposits will be forfeited if you miss just one participation assignment). You are also responsible for finding a replacement once the final scheduled is approved. This is not the responsibility of the Family Participation Coordinator, the Team Parent, the Coach or the Board of Directors. Once you have paid your Registration in full you will receive a separate email directing you to the Participation Schedule where you will schedule yourself for 3 duties. Please review the participation positions list before selecting your 3 choices. If you do not complete this step at the close of Registration the Family Participation Coordinator will schedule you for whichever games/duties remain.
