FGSA Monthly Meeting Minutes Date: Thursday 01/14/16 Time: 7:00pm Location: Keystone Villa Call to Order: President- Kevin Manmiller Attendance / Roll Call: President Kevin Manmiller Vice President -- Chris Malinowski Treasurer -- Keith Santangelo Secretary -- Brad Kessler Coaches/Assistant Coaches: 15U: Kevin Manmiller, Chris Malinowski, Dave Connor 12U: 10U: Keith Santangelo 8U: Jon Chwatek 6U: Crystal Drumheller Parents/Others: Brad Kessler Review of the Minutes from Last Meeting: Requesting a motion for approval of the meeting minutes: Motion #1 Dave Connor Motion #2 Jon Chwatek Approval Yeah

Treasurer s Report (Keith Santangelo): New Business 2016 FGSA budget was voted on and approved unanimously, with the only modification that the batting cage for the Middle School will not be purchased in 2015, but the costs will remain in the budget as a placeholder. The hope is that we save this amount to possibly purchase the batting cage in 2016. Motion #1- Chris Malinowski Motion #2- Crystal Drumheller Approval- Yeah. There weren t many changes to the Checking and Savings account other than a $3220.52 deposit from registration, calendar and uniform purchases to date. Old or Unfinished Business Keith has submitted the paperwork for the 5013C for the reinstatement of the nonprofit status of the FGSA, and still no update. ACTION ITEM: Keith Santangelo to continue to follow up on 501C3 status.

Fund Raising Committee Report (Eric Robuck, Steve Adam, Val Foley) New Fund Raising Business FGSA Skills Camp: The fund raising committee has regretfully informed the FGSA that they were unable to attain players from the PA Rebellion professional Softball team to make the camp a reality for the Spring season. Eric Robuck was not in attendance, but through E-mails has suggested that he, along with the committee members, will continue to pursue College/ High school coaches and players for a possible Summer or Fall Camp. Through the tireless work of these volunteer members, this will eventually happen. It was also noted, that the Lyons facility will be available for our use, and if we have volunteers to operate the concession stand for the day, the cost for the field usage is substantially lower. Sponsorships: Eric and his team have sent out letters requesting donations to our organization, over 100 letters, and the FGSA has not received any responses yet. The team is investigating, and will follow up with business that have received these letters. Lotto Calendars: There have been complaints about the Lotto Calendars not having the perforated stub at the bottom of the calendar. This requires each seller to remember who they were sold to in the event one of their numbers wins. The process would be a lot simpler if buyers could submit a stub with their information. The calendars we ve been using are the same that FGSA has used long prior to when the present board members were elected, so we simply inherited what had been done for years. Jon Chwatek provided information to Chris Malinowski on what FABA uses which is from Heffner Printing (on RT-73 in Fleetwood). The cost is actually slightly less than what we had been paying for the calendars without the perforated stubs from Sports Information Media. We will make the change to Heffner Printing for the 2017 season. 2016 FGSA Golf Tournament: The date has been set for August 20 th, Rich Maiden Golf Course, 1:15pm, Shotgun Start. More details to follow. Information contact Keith Santangelo. Coaches vs. Kids: Mary Templin confirmed that she will spearhead the effort on the 2016 Coaches vs. Kids fundraiser. She has stated that this will be a group effort, and anyone volunteering to assist these efforts would be greatly appreciated. The FGSA is looking for ideas and suggestions for recipients for the 2016 Coaches vs. Kids fundraiser. Got an idea???? Come to the next meeting, and when all recipient suggestions are in, a vote will be held. Advertisements on Outfield Fence: Eric Robuck and/or Kevin Manmiller to attend Maidencreek township meeting to pursue the endeavor of placing advertising signs on the outfield fence at the Blandon Fire Company field. It should be discussed with the township for both approval, and to be sure they don t have concerns about the weight of the material (on windy days, could the signs cause the fence to topple?). No one has attended the township meeting since this was brought up at the October meeting. Per Kevin Manmiller, he will be attending the very next meeting to discuss this and other issues with the Township.

Old or Unfinished Fund Raising Business 15U vs. Fleetwood Police: Eric Robuck has contacted Judge Greth and the Fleetwood police chief about the possibility of a Benefit game between the police department and the 15U girls of FGSA. This seems like a great opportunity to showcase our organization outside the realm of softball parents. This could bring great exposure for the FGSA. More details to come. The On-line Spiritwear store has been up and running for about the two years. Need to find out from Gretchen Manmiller how we obtain the proceeds for orders placed. Spaghetti Dinner: Eric Robuck has stated that this event will take place, and has given the lead to Val Foley. Possibly utilizing the Fleetwood Community Center or the Keystone Villa. 50/50 Raffle Tickets: The plan is to sell 50/50 raffle tickets on Opening Day and possibly other big long day events such as hosting Championship games. To be discussed further when we get closer to Opening Day. Donation Jars: Eric suggested the possibility of placing Donation Jars for FGSA at local businesses. Games of Chance Permit: FGSA should really have a Games of Chance permit just to be safe. The permit is only about $25, and would cover us for the sale of our Lottery calendars, and if we chose to have the Raffle Ticket sales on FGSA Day. Keith Santangelo was nominated to attend to the matter of this issue. ACTION ITEM: Eric Robuck to continue aggressive pursuit of FGSA Skills Camp. ACTION ITEM: Fund Raising Committee to report on progress of Sponsorship letters. ACTION ITEM: Kevin Manmiller to ask Gretchen to find out how we obtain our profits from Spiritwear sales. ACTION ITEM: Eric Robuck and/or Kevin Manmiller to attend Maidencreek Township meeting to discuss placing advertisements on the outfield fence at the Blandon Fire Co. field. ACTION ITEM: Keith Santangelo to look into obtaining the Games of Chance permit after the 501C3 status is received from the IRS. Concession Stand Committee Report (Mike Lazar) Old Concession Stand Business Our concession stand prices are considerably lower than other youth sports locations. Our prices will rise at the concession stand in 2016, but continue to be a delicious bargain!

Facility and Equipment Committee Report (Kevin Manmiller) New Facility and Equipment Business The following items were approved for purchase in the 2016 budget, and will be purchased by Kevin Manmiller. o Lock-box is needed at the Willow Creek field so that coaches don t have to lug bases back and forth between the HS shed and the WC field. o (4) additional nets, three of which will be kept at Blandon, Willow Creek and the HS Field so coaches would have an extra net for additional hitting stations. Those extra nets would be tagged somehow (colored tape?) so that we d know they should stay at the field. o New balls are for pitching machine at Blandon. o Another pitching mat for open gyms o The limer that we have at BFC keeps getting jammed. A new one will be purchased. o The drag at BFC has seen better days. A new drag will be purchased. Jon Chwatek cleaned out the High School field shed, and set aside extra old equipment that we will never use for donation or trash. Chris Malinowski has contacted Reading, and they are extremely excited to acquire our slightly used gear. Chris will coordinate the delivery of these items. The purchase of a batting cage for the Middle School has been put on hold. The school originally proposed funding half of it, but it did not make their 2016 budget. We have kept the original FGSA cost in the budget as a placeholder. Even though it will not be purchased in 2016, those funds will be saved for potential purchase of the batting cage next year. Old or Unfinished Facility and Equipment Business Mike Lazar raised a concern about not having a batting circle / on-deck area during games. We've had a number of near misses over the years. Kevin Manmiller is preparing a presentation to convey at the Maidencreek township meeting, for a proposal for the bleacher movement at BFC field. He feels confident that if presented correctly, a different outcome will transpire. An arm for the pitching machine was requested (same as what the High School team has). This will not be purchased immediately, but will be purchased later in 2016 depending on how many additional funds we get from fund raisers beyond what is in the proposed budget. ACTION ITEM: Kevin Manmiller to approach the township about removing the bleachers next to the backstop on both the 1 st base and the 3 rd base side, to begin preparation for installing On-Deck areas. ACTION ITEMS: Kevin Manmiller to purchase the following items: the lock-box for Willow Creek, additional nets to be kept at each field, new balls for the pitching machine, another pitching mat, a new limer, and a new drag.

Uniform Committee Report (Julianne Kessler) not present Old Uniform Business Chris Malinowski obtained quotes for fancier custom-designed jerseys for the 15U teams from a business called 2:5. They designed them specifically for us based on a suggestion from Makayla Calamita to have a Tiger Paw ripping a tear across the front of the Jersey. Cost would be $65/jersey. Webmaster Report (Joe Calamita) - www.fleetwoodgirlssoftball.org New Webmaster Business Keith Santangelo suggested the use of Google if we don t have a website set up in time to do on-line scheduling for the Spring season. Keith said the 10U commissioner used it for scheduling all 10U teams in the Fall and it worked great. ACTION ITEMS: Joe Calamita to report on progress of website that would allow us to do scheduling of fields on-line. ACTION ITEMS: Keith Santangelo to start investigating Google for field scheduling. Registration Committee Report (Chris Malinowski) New Registration Business 2016 Registration has begun. Deadline is 2/06/16.

General and Miscellaneous Business New Misc Business It was noted that 1 st Aid Kits should be made available at our Open Gyms. Additionally, in general our 1 st Aid Kits have seen better days and should be replenished. We definitely need a 1 st Aid Kit overhaul. We have been out of the cold packs since Fall. A suggestion was brought up to bring in Evolution to do one of their clinics for our girls. Their clinics are a maximum of 24 girls (for $240 total), and they can accommodate girls of any age all at the same time. The thought is that we would offer this clinic to the first 24 girls to sign up for it. If there is enough interest, we could run the clinic again a 2 nd time for any girls who were unable to go to the first one. For a cost of only $10/girl, this could be an inexpensive opportunity for some extra practice and learning. There were some changes in the Open Gym schedule due to a volleyball tournament date change Here is the remaining schedule: Old Misc Business FABA has offered to give us space for an advertisement on the fence at Smith Field. There are a lot of families with boys in FABA who may have daughters interested in FGSA. Smith Field gets a lot of traffic, so a banner there would be good advertising. ACTION ITEMS: Chris Malinowski to obtain a volunteer to replenish the 1 st Aid Kits by the time Spring teams start practicing outdoors. (Since the meeting, Matt Davenport has graciously volunteered to do this.) Scheduled Fun Events: Fri 2/05 6pm to 8pm, 12U/15U Dodge Ball and Wiffle Ball (Fleetwood Boro Hall) Fri 2/26 6pm to 8pm, 6U/8U/10U Dodge Ball and Wiffle Ball (Fleetwood Boro Hall) Sat 6/11 FGSA Pool Night at the Reading Phillies Sat 8/20 - FGSA Golf Outing at Rich Maiden, 1:15pm shotgun start September 2016 4 th Annual Coaches vs. Kids charity fundraiser (exact date TBD) Adjournment: President Kevin Manmiller adjourned the meeting at 8:45pm
