You are encouraged to attend as a couple or a group! Tickets include a Mock-tail Hour Tea Party with finger foods, drinks & dessert from 8pm-9pm. The dance is from 9pm-11pm. Last day to purchase tickets is Thursday, October 24th. Tickets will increase by $5.00 each day following the ticket sale deadline. Students bringing guests from outside of Chaminade must have a guest pass signed & turned in to purchase a ticket. Homecoming 2013 A World of Fantasy! MONDAY - DREAMING OF A FANTASY WORLD Remember when you were a young child and you curled up in your pajamas while your parents read you stories? We encourage you to come to school in your Pajamas to start your dream homecoming in a World of Fantasy! * APPROPRIATE PJ s: Onsies, Flannel Pants, Long Pajama bottoms, Pajama sets, long nightgowns made of cotton, flannel or similar material. i.e. anything that can be purchased at a store that is actual pajamas * NOT APPROPRIATE PJ s: Sweats, yoga pants, leggings, shorts, silk nightgowns, boxers, tank tops, anything tight, mid-driff, see-through or with inappropriate logos. * Everyone must wear shoes - even if you are wearing a onsie with feet - your feet must have a hard sole and be completely covered by a shoe. SLIPPERS ARE NOT SHOES! TUESDAY - MAD HATTER RALLY Our journey into the Worlds of Fantasy starts and ends in Wonderland! Take a trip through the Rabbit hole to all of the many worlds of fantasy! For the rally wear your orange spirit shirt with jeans and your favorite Crazy Mad Hatter! All hats, any hats, point birthday hats, cowboy hats, top hats, even tiaras, animal ears and wigs... if you can wear it on your head it will do! * All hats will not be allowed inside during class time. Jeans okay with spirit shirt. WEDNESDAY - WORLD OF DC & MARVEL What kid doesn t dream of being a superhero and flying or having super natural powers? Show your school spirit and come to school dressed as your favorite Super Hero. * No masks, face painting, tight clothing / body suits, short shorts or inappropriate logos. Leggings okay with shorts over them (no leggings/yoga pants alone). Jeans okay if you are wearing a superhero shirt. THURSDAY - WORLD OF WIZARDRY & MAGIC The Homecoming Festival promises to be filled with Chaminade MAGIC! Students can wear their spirit shirt with jeans once more or dress up as your favorite wizard or magician. Bring money for the lunchtime festival - The BHC will be turned in to the Great Hall and clubs and organizations will make up Diagon Alley. You will even have the chance to compete against friends for the snitch and take photos to be the cover star in a World of Fantasy Magazine. * Any wizard or magician hats will not be allowed inside the class room. * Jeans are okay if wearing spirit shirt or costume. FRIDAY - FANTASY SPORTS To encourage support for our football team and the big homecoming game students will be allowed to wear any sports T-shirt or jersey with jeans. Join us in the Eagles Nest wearing orange or your C-Sick shirt - kick off is at 7:30pm. ** For all dress up days jeans are approved as long as they are in good condition. No jean shorts, basketball shorts, yoga pants or leggings. Jeans can be any color. Shoes must be worn with all outfits. Modesty is the key. If in doubt ask the deans. They are the final say on whether an outfit is appropriate. Please do not abuse the privilege of having dress up days and be respectful of the rules.
Chaminade Dress Code & Dance Regulations 1. Doors close at 9:00pm. Students must arrive to the dance by that time or they will not be admitted. There is no reimbursement for no-shows. 2. All attendees must have a current Chaminade ID card with them to be admitted. ALL GUESTS MUST HAVE A CURRENT HIGH SCHOOL PHOTO ID OR DRIVER S LICENSE and a guest permission slip on file. Any Chaminade student without an ID will receive a detention. If the guest is not carrying an ID, the Chaminade student will receive a detention. 3. The dance officially ends at 11:00pm. As a privilege, seniors can leave the dance at 10:30pm but seniors attending the dance with underclassmen may not leave the dance before 11:00pm. Any student wishing to leave earlier than the times listed above must check in with the Dean who will call the student s parent to authorize the early leave. 4. Freak dancing and grinding or other inappropriate, offensive dancing is not permitted. Students who display inappropriate dancing or unruly conduct will be referred to the deans and may be excluded from the remainder of the dance. 5. To ensure safety of students and a positive environment at our dance, there will be random breathalyzer tests at the door. Any student who displays suspicious behavior may also be tested. Dress Code All Students 1. For safety reasons, shoes must be worn for the duration of the dance. 2. Purses containing valuable items may not be left unattended. 3. Anyone with questions about the suitability of an outfit or whether a particular item meets stated requirements, should see the Deans before the night of the dance.. 4. Students inappropriately dressed will not be allowed in the dance. (A call will be placed to parents informing them of the situation and the parents will be invited to bring clothing that meets requirements. They are also free to come and pick up the student). 5. Students who violate the dance dress code or guidelines will have disciplinary consequences through the Deans Office. The Deans are final arbiter on all issues related to dance dress. Girls: Modesty is the overriding principle in determining dress for the dance but the following guidelines are to be observed. 1. Dresses are to be semi-formal. 2. All necklines must be modest. Dresses may have spaghetti straps, be halter tops, or strapless, as long as they don t have plunging necklines that reveal too much skin. 3. Skirts, dresses & slits must be no more than 5 inches measuring from the floor while kneeling, to the hem of the dress - if uncertain, using a 3x5 note card, kneel down & hold the note card against your leg with one end on the floor. The hem of the dress should be in line with the top end of the note card. (This allows for approx. 2 inches above the knee) If skirt is too short, student will not be allowed in the dance! 4. Dresses cannot be skin tight stretchy (i.e. Spandex, nylon, polyester) material that shortens as you walk or dance. Anyone wearing a tight stretchy fabric skirt or dress will not be allowed in the dance. 5. No bare midriffs, Backless dresses may not be cut below the natural waistline. 6. Dresses that are laced together in the front cannot reveal bare skin. 7. Dresses with sheer panels or cut outs will not be allowed. Boys: 1. Dress pants (no sagging), dress shirt and dress shoes. 2. Tie is required, jacket is optional. 3. Shirts must be worn the entire dance. Anyone removing his shirt will be asked to leave the dance.
